there are so many words to use in place of “penis” in regards to smut. there’s dick. or shaft. we got cock. member. organ. length. hell, even manhood! all are acceptable replacements.
but what do we have for the testicles? nuts? no thank you. ballsac or, lord forbid, just sac? i’d literally rather be tarred and feathered. using their government name and just calling them testicles? take me out back and gimme the ol’ yeller treatment.
how has the english language evolved so much yet we have no acceptable word for testicles in a sexy context? how can we claim we’ve advanced as a society when the best word for describing when two characters are fucking nasty and the noble and mighty testes are swaying about is balls?
BALLS

Probably don't make a disability creepy
how to write creepy stories
over describe things
under describe things
short sentences in rapid succession build tension
single sentence paragraphs build dread
uncanny valley = things that aren't normal almost getting it right
third person limited view
limited expressions
rot, mold, damage, age, static, flickering, espsecially in places it shouldn't be
limited sights for your mc - blindness, darkness, fog
being alone - the more people there are, the less scary it is
intimate knowledge, but only on one side
your reader's imagination will scare them more than anything you could ever write. you don't have to offer a perfectly concrete explanation for everything at the end. in fact, doing so may detract from your story.

First carriage ride of the year 🐶🌼
For anyone new, Holly Mop is a rescue dog who spent the first few years of her life in a cage. When we first got her she was terrified of being outside and would become ill with stress when we tried to take her on walks. We got her a stroller to see if that would help and it became her favorite thing. Three years later she’s able to walk on leash in quiet spaces, but still loves the elevated view from her carriage.
The flowers are left over from renfaire last year:

Help a Disabled Trans Family
Hello. My name is Seth. I have recently become disabled and unable to work. This year has been super hard on myself and my family. In February, my ESA (for those of you who have followed me for a while, this would be Spooky) had to be put down after complications from a sudden infection. I was diagnosed with PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, and DID. I've been working with a pair of therapists and my psychiatrist to get my mental health back in order since then. Unfortunately, life has just thrown me more curve balls. My brother and his wife had a child, then started majorly fighting - dragging the whole family into it. My concerns for my nephew further plummeted my mental health, especially as my sister-in-law has some severe mental illnesses and she likes to flee the house that her and my brother live in and take their child with her. I've been trying to finalize my divorce from my spouse, though my money and resources have been focused on keeping myself and my roommates alive with a roof over our head. A couple of months ago, we had to put down another of our cats, and in the same weekend, I got a notification that one of my aunt's dogs that I was close to had to be put down. And now that the holidays are around the corner, my mother suddenly came down with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS); her IVIG treatments didn't work, so now she is currently doing plasma exchange (plasmapheresis), which has been difficult as her blood pressure keeps dropping. Because of that, she can't have pain medicines, so she's frequently in pain.
During all of this, I've been trying to work with my job for accommodations to lessen my near constant panic attacks and PTSD flashbacks as they've gotten disabling. I've started a claim at work for Short-term Disability, as well as attempting to get on SSDI - but the 3rd party that my job goes through to handle STD claims hasn't been the greatest and they've caused so many delays; up to and including not having a working fax number that my doctors can send in my medical records for them to review.
On top of all of this, the heating/air unit for my roommates has been broken since August with no ETA for being fixed, our microwave broke - also with no ETA of being fixed/replaced, our laundry room keeps flooding due to the pipes in our house being awful and the landlords dragging their feet on getting stuff unclogged, my bathroom sink/counter has been broken for months, and the toilet seat in my bathroom broke.
At this point, my anxiety is through the roof to the point where I'm bordering on being institutionalize due to how bad my mental state has gotten.
Please - anything will help to make sure that we can continue forward.
Thank you.
-Seth

Update 2/1/3023 --
I was hospitalised on January 2nd for 10 days. My short-term disability was denied, and New York Life hasn't told me why. According to the team handling my SSDI case, they're waiting to hear back from the government as to if that's been denied or not. I'm about to lose my medical insurance because I can't go back to work and my claim was denied.
My mother is still basically paralyzed from the waist down. She's willing to pay me to help clean her house, but it'll only be about $50 a week. On top of that, I discovered that one of my headlights is out last night.
I did sign up for a new job, so we'll see how that works out, but right now, it's not great.
Any little bit helps. Thank you.
Update --- 4/24/24
My short-term disability had been declined for the second half of my leave, and I've not heard back from SSDI yet.
My mother is walking with assistance, but my brother and his wife aren't in a better situation. She's basically moved out at this point and taken their child.
Two of my roommates have gone to Michigan to handle affairs on their end as one of their mothers has just been put in to hospice.
I've been trying to apply for jobs, but nothing is coming back. And even the help I've gotten to get this campaign out there was just another money drain.
Anything helps.

Animal of the Day!
Red-Lipped Batfish (Ogcocephalus darwini)
Tumblr media
(Photo from The Verge)
Conservation Status- Least Concern
Habitat- Galapagos reefs; Coast of Peru
Size (Weight/Length)- 40 cm
Diet- Mollusks; Small fish; Crabs
Cool Facts- While you might look at this and think it’s a picture of your 75 year old neighbor Mrs. Smith, you would be wrong. The red-lipped batfish is a fish with legs. Well, not really legs but modified fins that allow them to walk across the floor of the ocean. Due to this amazing adaptation, batfish are poor swimmers and make easy targets for predatory fish. They tend to stick to shallow coral reefs that have plenty of food.
Rating- 11/10 (A fish. That can walk. And it has lips.)

Oh look it took ten seconds.
Some of the things Biden has done as President:
-expanded who gets paid time and a half for overtime (this article hasn't been updated since Biden signed it)
-made over-the-counter birth control available
-reinvigorated green energy expansions (which had gone by the wayside during Trump)
-made it so lower income people have a chance at being able to get a mortgage
-did a thing so now the consumer financial protection bureau is working on diminishing the surprise fees on shit, including overdraft fees (explained in the article)
-passed a law making the electoral college vote how their state did
-helped prevent a catastrophe with Colorado River water (it's a short-term solution, but fuck knows it's better than Trump would have done)
-revived a set of regulations to help increase fairness and diversity in food (ie small farms have a chance), including giving them monetary help (again, more info in the article)
-pushed for fewer federal restrictions on weed
-passed shit to help prevent huge amts of student debt
-made it so certain medications can be prescribed via telehealth (this is a covid thing that didn't end), like ADHD meds and trans meds
-worked to make it riskier for businesses to bust unions (he did it in the background after the Ohio(?) train accident, and did it quietly on request of the union iirc)
-passed a thing to comprehensively limit what AI can legally do
-put $1.2trillion into fixing infrastructure (roads, bridges, etc)
-formed a new agency to investigate cyberattacks
-pushed to make airlines pay customers when flights are delayed or canceled
-signed a bill about abortion to try to prevent hospitals from being unable/afraid to treat a pregnant or miscarrying person and to expand HIPAA

So the second med he prescribed interacts by increasing dizziness etc. Of six of my medications, also lowers the effect of my heart medication, and for people with cardiac issues it can fuck up heart rhythm.
I'm... not too sure about taking these.
And this is why I check for interactions before I start a medication.
I specifically asked my allergist is my new medication would interact w my liver problems, and he said as long as it's still functioning, no.
But not only should it be monitored closely, but it also interacts with my heart meds, which we talked about. And he said nothing about the interaction!

I can't tell y'all about A Thing from where I grew up, bc if you look it up, despite it being super vague, it's the only result that comes up.
But, a super cool thing happened where I grew up. You'll have to trust me on that

Note: it might be that there's laws obligating them to inform law enforcement directly in certain circumstances.
Do not make information like periods, ovulation, pregnancy trackers, even birth control trackers, available. To any entity. On any device.
Last I knew, Planned Parenthood's app lets you track all that and only stores the data on your device, so they have no info to potentially give anyone.
Read the privacy policy before using it, however.
Also, know that even if you select a state without laws about that, it could use your IP address to determine it anyways and report based on that.
Use a VPN not based somewhere where logs are legally required to be kept.
