Collab Fëanor, ha 💎💎💎

Feanor and Silmarilli...the light captured inside gems is of tree origin so I wanted to draw it spread like branches ♥ (it was only a doodle where I tried that light-spreading idea. But my sis saw it, liked it(I guess?), redrawn anatomy.... and made Feanor so good-looking that I had to finish it :D )

I am loving your Lord of the Rings sketches so far, especially Pippin, and The Balrog. They're SO charming! The way you do curly/bushy hair is unique, and I love it. I would pay for a collection of sketches, originals or prints or what have you, if you ever decide to sell these :)

Hi! I've just found your blog and i really love your work! - i was wondering if/how much you are influenced by czech illustration/animation tradition such as Josef Lada and Zdeněk Miler? I am australian but love them lots and would be so keen to hear your thoughts! <3

Hello and thank you! 💖

Glad to hear from someone so far away who knows them! And yes old Czechoslovakian animation and illustration is my biggest inspiration! And I believe almost everyone in here grows up with some of Lada's and Miler's work around them, you can't quite avoid that :^) My personal favorites are perhaps Jiří Trnka and Cyril Bouda...but it's very hard to choose. If you'd be interested in some tips for animations or illustrations let me know, I'm glad to share!

Hi there! I'm such a fan of your work and have been for so long. I love to see your sketches. I'm curious - what is your process in sketching? What are the different colors of layered sketches? Do you start with a lighter color and refine with the darker ones? Thank you!

What-ho! Thank you so much and sorry to answer this late! Yeah, that's pretty much it. I like to be able to see the older sketches underneath because sometimes it gives me an idea for a stylization or a change in composition that I wouldn't thought of otherwise.
