not only do we get doyoung personally showing off his sashimi-cutting skills for dongsoo which is already insane enough when you consider the implications of him doing it in plain view of his men just behind him

but we also get this interesting shot because in korean drinking culture it's considered polite for someone of younger age or lower rank to turn away when drinking in front of someone older or of higher rank. and i've noticed that in a lot of gangster shows/movies they emphasise these type of shots to visualise the differences in rank and position.

now, i doubt doyoung would have turned away just because he was younger because his rank considerably outweighs dongsoo's in this particular situation. if he wanted to pull rank he could've stared down dongsoo as he drank to prove a point but it could have also been interpreted as him showing dongsoo that he viewed him as an equal: that they were truly partners to put dongsoo's anxieties over their unequal partnership at ease.

but no, he turned away as he drank which is So juicy to gnaw over because it's either a) it's him showing his clear displeasure at dongsoo's request to be left alone after all of this or b) it's him allowing dongsoo to see that he Does value him by giving into societal customs and showing him respect as he bares his neck in clear invitation.

again all of this is in clear view of his men!!

also Wild to me how they literally preluded all of this with ^this^ particular opening to show that the drinking culture is very much present as we see the underlings turn away from oh jae to drink because he clearly outranks them

all of this to say that doyoung clearly values dongsoo and despite dongsoo's hangups on needing verbal validation, doyoung is clearly more comfortable showing things and i find it SO fascinating that they emphasise on the physicality of the acting to drive it home.

somethingsomething dongsoo's love language being words of affirmation while doyoung's is acts of service and gift-giving in the way of the sugar daddy

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.

For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.

The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.

So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.

the worst part of falling out with people and becoming distant from the people you used to spend day-in and day-out with is not actually the distance or the absence. it's actually when your life slows down and you get a quiet moment and suddenly you're thinking about them, thinking hey, do you still think of me too? and it's wondering if your friendship could've been fixed if you had just been different, more...not you. it's knowing that sometimes you can't help but think back to moments and memories from years and years past, the ones where you smiled together and the ones where they'd hurt you without knowing or caring. you think about the hurt they caused you and you call them ex-friend and they're a part of your life forever because of it but they don't care anymore, they don't care enough to put you in any one category, and they don't care enough to ever really think about you again.

#maybe it's not the The Worst part but goddamn it's up there. yeah this just happened to me now #when i ''''came out'''' back in hs the girl i was really close to suddenly started acting like i would like her just bc she was a girl #and then we became distant bc i started becoming good friends with other queer kids in our grade #and she didn't want us to be so physically affectionate anymore. tbh i doubt she knew what she was doing #but maybe it's the subconsciousness of the act that makes it worse. i knew our distance was for the better but still LOL #friendships are just weird; high school girl friendships are heartbreaking.#maybe it's just me tho cus none of the girls who abandoned me when they met others ever seemed to miss me again #yah whatever i rant #s4pphoiduser.txt
