Whenever people go on about how human life is short and that we shouldn't hold grudges and stuff, I usually zone of the conversations because I think they're being stupid. But then I also realise that I still correct the h's in all my spellings because a teacher who I admired in sixth grade told me to write the letter in that way. I still read the birthday card I got on my fourteenth birthday from a friend who I no longer talk to. I still listen to that one song my ex and I liked because it reminds of the better times we shared. I still crack that one awful joke that I once shared with my close friend even though we no longer look each other in the eye and ignore the other when we walk past each other. Maybe some part of me will always hold onto these things because it meant the world to me a lifetime ago but I'll never admit to this to the people I know in real life.

- While the media calls it the resistance of the Ukrainian people to the Russian invasion, on the other hand, the resistance of the Palestinian people to the Israeli occupation is called terrorism.

Rant:
Regarding the incident where a bunch of goons ganged up on a girl wearing a burka, some apologists are coming forth claiming "oh this is not a matter of religion but of politics, these kids are misled by bad politicians" no this is a matter of religious communalism, absolutely, these children who have barely any understanding of the world are filled with so much hate towards us, don't you think that their parents their peers could have stopped this from happening? Didn't white people create channels and WhatsApp groups to discern the constant racial discrimination? Why is it that when something like this happens it is always us against these apologists? The government is shutting down our fundamental right to practice our religion because of "public interest" it seems, what mockery of our democracy huh. Everyone has silently decided to avert their eyes from the elephant in the room, the Majoritarian Hindu Supremacist intimidation which is holding hostage the fundamental right of Muslim women to education and dignity, reinforcing the idea that Muslim women can only sit and study with their peers if they erase every appearance of their 'Muslimness' these goons say that if Muslim women want to wear a Hijab they should study in Muslim-run colleges, how in the world can such a demand be in the public interest? Where it feeds the idea that Muslims should be isolated and segregated from the general crowd, this is not public interest, this is the interest of the majority, this is apartheid. This false equivalence that some people have drawn between the saffron stoles and our hijab is sooo vile, we never wore the hijab to challenge someone else's freedom to expression, or to threaten anyone, or to coerce anyone into giving up their preferred dress or practice. We wear the Hijab the same way the Sikh wear their turban, the Hindu's wear their tilak/bindis/vibhutis with their uniforms, how does our expression threaten unity then? what is this hypocrisy? The saffron stoles that the students wore in order to protest against the hijab were clearly motivated by their islamophobia. How do they expect Muslim children to grow up with a sense of belongingness to the country when all they want to do is segregate, stigmatise and alienate us?
