Anyways, y’all better start saving your fave fanfics and fanart under the Disney labels cause it looks like they’re trying to curb fair use/fanworks and I’m sure there’s going to be mass panicked deletions even though it’s probably unnecessary cause AO3′s legal team will fight for us.
now that tikki has said that the kwamis don’t fall in love they’re added to my list of characters that are aspec and plagg and tikki are in a queer platonic relationship and that’s all i have to say about that
Would you rather that Chat finds out Ladybug's identity first or Ladybug finds out Chat's identity first?
if one has to find out the identity before the other, I’ve always preferred Ladybug find out Chat Noir’s identity first.
I just feel like one of the biggest hurdles in the lovesquare is that Marinette doesn’t understand Adrien well enough (through no fault of her own— nobody really understands Adrien, because he’s always putting on an act).
Like, Adrien has looked at Marinette and Ladybug and said to himself “wow, Marinette could possibly be Ladybug” and “Marinette is like an everyday ladybug!”. And we know from Chat Blanc that his reaction to actually finding out they’re the same person is like “oh, of course!!! this is incredible!!! it makes sense!!! I love her!!!!!”
But Marinette? Marinette seems to think that Chat Noir and Adrien have very little in common. She’s never once bothered to compare the two of them aside from talking about how different they are. Finding out that they’re the same person would probably come as a huge shock to her, and she’d need time to process it.
I like to think about Marinette at school, idly watching Adrien sit quietly and sadly in class and thinking to herself “this??? this is chat noir???”, and going to patrols and watching chat noir embarrass himself and act like a fool and think “this???? this is adrien?????” until the pieces finally slot together for her.
Not yet, anyways. Not with the specter of Chat Blanc is still hanging over her head, causing her fears for how that all could end.
Moreover, her feelings for her partner were already fairly complex. It is going to take an outside perspective to help her come to terms with that fact that Oblivio actually showed something really important about the LadyNoir relationship at a fundamental level. To help to lift some of the challenges that have forever been getting in her way.
Alya is so uniquely positioned to handle all of it. And now Marinette is actually going to be far more primed to listen and internalize what she has to say.
Also, no other canon person has been a bigger ship captain of all of the ships for both LadyNoir and Adrinette.
TL;DR: Marinette wasn’t the only one who got the best Wingwoman today.
So I started analyzing Ladybug's rant in the movie theater, and something struck me.
(Now this is purely speculation and I can't say for certain if this was intended by the writers. So take this with a grain of salt.)
Right here. She goes from talking about Adrien to Luka.
So she addresses how she did give up on Adrien and 'Fell in love with Luka'
but then she says everything was " Too Simple, Too Easy' No Stammering- They just hug and kiss and SURPRISE'"
This kind of reveals something more then we think.
Marinette viewed her relationship with Luka as something simple and easy. Its almost like she ...felt like something was wrong with it even before getting to the next part. The use of the word 'Too' as in it was excessive. Her word choice (which could simply be a sub-ism so take this with a grain of salt) says a lot here.
I think part of her here felt like she didnt deserve something like that with how the previous person she was in love with went and Her dynamic with Luka was muddled more than she even realized.
It didnt help that Luka said he was okay with her still being in love with Adrien, I think she kind of resented that Luka didnt push her to move past it more.
Or she felt like her second shot at love wasn't what she expected or wanted because of how things felt. Perhaps even without the whole secret thing being an issue, this was her way of seeing that something was off about the dynamic.
I think there is a lot more to marinette's view on love and I really want to delve more into it.
