Just in case it wasn't glaringly obvious in the first post.

I finally got around to watching Penny Dreadful. It was something I’ve been wanting to watch since it aired, but I lacked Showtime and then heard how bad the ending was which made seeing it less of a priority…

Anyhow, right away I noticed this similarity between Vanessa and Mary’s appearance. There’s really only minor changes to the bodice/collar for this dress.

This character design sheet makes it even more obvious.

And here are more pictures, just because. Unfortunately, I couldn’t locate any of Mary before she was turned for comparison.

I noticed other visual/aesthetic parallels between Penny Dreadful and Vampyr (vampire appearance - eyes, veins; scenery - obviously, since it’s set in the same location with about three decades between, but they blend fairly seamlessly; etc), but this dress was the most undeniable to me.

Who’s going to write the crossover? lol
