Salman Khan and Deanne Panday discussed various chapters from the book in a conversation with NDTV

December 01, 2020

Wellness coach Deanne Panday has just released her new book titled Balance: The Secret To True Health And Happiness In 13 Ways. The book focuses on 13 vital elements that lead to a happy and healthy life. These elements are relationships, home, finance, career, health, physical activity, joy, spirituality, home-cooked food, creativity, education, social life, and climate change.

The book was launched by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on NDTV. In a conversation with Rohit Khilnani, Salman and Deanne discussed various chapters from the book.

Salman Khan said he loves his mom’s food. He has always preferred home-cooked food even when he is shooting. “It’s an acquired taste from childhood which can’t change. I tried to cook during the lockdown. I managed egg bhurji, dal, roti, and a few other things. I follow my mother’s recipe. But even if I follow that it can never have the taste that she manages to get out of it.

"Deanne said, "I wanted Salman to launch this book and talk about it because he and his family follow all these things. Eating home-cooked food, doing charity, giving back to society, taking care of health, managing, and nurturing relationships.

."In one of the chapters, Deanne talks about relationships, friendships and anger. The two discussed that as well during the interview. Salman said, "I have anger, which is needed. Anger is not bad, if you want to take a stand you should have anger. I don’t have a temper and that’s not good. We get upset about small things like if someone is late, or if the shoot didn’t start on time. I tell people, look around and see how privileged we are, we should just be grateful for what all we have.” Deanne added, “He is right. Bad temper is something that’s not good for anybody, I agree with Salman.

In the book Balance, Deanne talks about the circle-of-life programme, which will help the leader on the path to wellness.

Deanne Panday’s book Balance: The Secret To True Health And Happiness In 13 Ways is published by Penguin Random House India and is available for ₹ 299.

Nov 29, 2020,

Suniel Shetty turns 60 in 2021. But that isn’t what this conversation is about. For someone who has decades of work behind him - action, comedy, drama, romance, every genre that’s checked, Suniel embodies humility and grace. A family man with two kids- Ahan and Athiya, one who is set to embark on his Bollywood journey and the other who has already made a name for herself as an actress, Suniel takes a lot of pride in being a successful father and a devoted husband. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Suniel talks about some of the toughest moments in his career, getting written off and being labelled a ‘non-actor’, his friendship with Salman Khan and staying fit and sexy at 60! Here are excerpts from the chat.

(Excerpt from interview)

You share a very special relationship with Salman. What have you learnt from him?

Give, give, give and keep giving is Salman Khan! He doesn’t talk about the unbelievable amount of work he does. He doesn’t talk about the unbelievable amount of support he gives. Recommending me even when I wasn’t working. Recommending each other that oh I can’t do this film, talk to Suniel he will be damn good for it. It is only when you are comfortable in your own space. I always say he’s the most misunderstood human being in this industry, I am not saying this now, I have been saying this for the last 10 years when he was being hit at peak that yeh aisa hai ya vaisa hai but insaan bahot acha hai. Agar yeh poochna hi hai na toh tabloids se kyu pooch rahe ho? Tabloids se kyu pooche? Editors se kyu pooche? Journalists se kyu pooche kyunki kahi na kahi we are not 100 per cent ourselves when it comes to you. There is a put on and a behaviour where we try to show you the good side of us.

Agar asliyat jaan ni hai aapko industry ke baare mein, agar kitab likhna hai aap pehle ke dressman se poochiye jo van ke andar aate the, pehle ke lightmen se poochiye, dancers, junior artistes se poochiye, dancers se poochiye kyunki woh din bhar hamare ird gird hai kyunki hamari jo cheezein hai hamare moods, hamare whims, hamari fancies they will know about it . Go and look at every actor and see iska boy iske sath kitne saal se hai, kitne assistant directors ko isne encourage ya gaali diya hai tab aapko pata chalega ki asli hero kaun hai aur Salman Khan ke baare mein you can ask anybody that, that is why the word Bhai. It comes with a reason you know. Mithun Da, Jackie Dada, that comes and that is respect which your own industry gives you.

Of course the world picks up and follows and believes in that. But that is why Salman is Bhai, he is called a Bhai. He is far younger than us, I don’t need to, I always call him Salman. But when I call him today, I feel the need to call him that. Ye chamchagiri nahi hai, Salman himself will tell you the kind of relationship he and I share, north pole and south pole. He knows I will run away in 2 minutes and disappear from a party but he knows I am always there for him and vice versa. So, Salman is that boy who has a heart of gold, absolute heart of gold. Some people show it and some people don’t.

The announcement that the new Salman Khan starrer Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhaiwill only release in movie theatres and not go the OTT way, may come as a surprise only to those completely outside Salman Khan’s circle.

Anyone who knows him even remotely knows that it would never be digital for Salman. Reveals a close friend, “He’s been offered humongous amounts to do digital content. He has said a firm no to all the offers.”

Apparently, Salman was offered Rs. 250 crores for a digital series on one of the leading platforms.

“Salman didn’t consider the offer even for a second,” says the friend. Radhe director Prabhu Dheva confirms, “As far as I know it was never a digital release for Salman.”

Salman Khan has never taken on more work in his entire career. Scarcely was he out of Dabangg 3 than he started, and completed another feature film Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai, the unofficial sequel to Salman-Prabhu Dheva’s Wanted.

Nov 20, 2020,

Shard up Pandit is the latest contestant to have walked out of the Bigg Boss 14 house during the Diwali weekend so that he could spend some quality time with his ailing mother. But the actor has now revealed that his mother is not happy with his early exit as he is in dire need of money. He has requested host Salman Khan to help him get work in the industry.

Shardul has said that he doesn’t have Salman’s contact number but wants to give him a message. “I need work. If you have any position for an actor, please give me work,” Shardul said in an interview.

Shardul was talking to India Today about his financial woes. He said, “The moment I left the Bigg Boss house, I was taken to my vanity. There I requested to speak to Salman (Khan) bhai for a minute. He told me that like Kavita, even I could be back. After that, I just sat there for two hours. I couldn’t cry or feel anything because I needed the show for money. The realisation is finally sinking in that it’s over.

Shardul further opened up his inner struggles and said, “I was hoping to be among the top contestants but now I have to battle it all alone. There’s a part of fans who are saying that I won hearts but there are some who say I didn’t do anything. It pinches me every moment. It’s difficult to live with that. I feel like going back to despair. There was a time earlier when I had wanted to kill myself and now, I have to battle it again all over again.”

During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode that ended with Shardul’s exit, Salman had mentioned that there was a negligible difference between the audience votes received in favour of Shardul and another nominated contestant, Rubina Dilaik.
