What if while Joe and Rhys are out together (either casually or disposing a body) Joe sees a vivid hallucination of Love and has like a full blown mental breakdown. And Love is like, guilt tripping him or mocking him in some way that really gets to Joe. In order to show him how much he cares about him and his well-being, Rhys dedicates his time and energy into taking care of Joe and trying to make him forget Love, he has Rhys after all.

Until now, the fics have all been where Rhys uses sex as a leverage to make Joe see from his perspective

I was thinking, how about it's the other way around

Rhys knows Joe is attracted to him, so he withholds sex until Joe truly accepts the connections and similarities between them

So there's lots of heated looks, kisses and touches that leave Joe panting and wanting, but no sex cause he hasn't earned it yet

And when they finally sleep together, it's both a reward and a culmination of their real feelings
