People who can read between the lines,
and people who bother to study all the data,
will be terrified by this video.
The information in this video
has been presented rather misleadingly.
Now both pessimists and optimists have scewed perspective,
but if the information in this video is all the optimists have to offer,
then we really really screwed.
Researching into the pieces of data in this video,
I've discovered a whole new wave of truly frightening facts.
Now I don't want to say what they are just yet,
because that might bias your own research of the topics,
but ask me about any particular topic in the comments,
and I'll gladly reply with a more in-depth explanation.
That way people who want to research the topic themselves,
won't be swayed by my own "interpretation" of the data,
or at least I won't be accused of doing such,
while those that are curious to know more,
can have their narrow perspective expanded,
by my explanation of how to read the data another way.
That said, my overall take from this video is possitive.
A lot of the bad things I know about,
are getting worse at a rapidly increasing rate,
but said rate isn't increasing quite as fast as I thought it would be.
It's a small mercy indeed.
We might still yet have a positive future for our children,
even if our grand children will hard a very hard life,
which is better than what I believed,
which is that problems will arrive in my own lifetime,
which to be fair is only expected be another 20 years.
Most people will ignore the greatest part of good news in this.
I understand that a lot of people don't have the context for it.
Being able to transplant pig kidneys into humans is big.
You have no idea how much of an impact this will have.
This will revolutionise the medical establishment.
Seriously, everyone should look up kidney dialisis.
This is going to change everything for medicine.
And I'm not even imagining
just how much this will affect transplants in general.
All we need is something along these lines for the pancreas,
and we will have turned the medical serves upside down.
These two things will change medicine forever.
You simply have no idea what this even means for the planet.
New comic: How To Stop Birds From Hitting Your Windows. It’s easier than you think! I made this with my friends at FLAP Canada. Their Global Bird Rescue event starts October 5.
About gun control
and private manufacturing of arms.
I do believe that,
the manufacture of firearms should be highly regulated.
The general public may imagine themselves
to be the kind of vigilante hero they see in movies,
but more often than not,
your average joe is not skilled or intelligent enough,
to be carrying around such a lethal tool at their disposal.
Gun licensing prevents the careless, violent and risk-taking of us,
from having access to the means,
to do something probably everyone-else will regret.
I know Count Dankula may be pro-armaments,
and i do believe that he himself would be responsible with one,
but i'm not sure he's aware of many stupid people exist,
so handily peppered among crowds of people with far more sense.
There should be a system in place,
to prevent foolish people from acquiring the means,
to commit massive harm.
This is the reason gun regulation exists in the first place.
You may ask how this comes into play involving gun manufacture,
and though on the face of it this seems unrelated,
having the means to keep track of gun exchange,
prevents the foolish from getting things off-licence.
If every gun can be traced,
manufacturers will be a lot more careful who they sell to.
It is a problem that foreign nations may abuse this system,
all for the sake of some totalitarian rule,
but on the whole,
across most nations around the globe,
the authorities,
if somewhat indirectly,
do have the public safety at heart.
i find it poignant that,
the white house was stormed by armed members of the public,
due to a panic about guns being ceased,
that was stirred up by nothing more than,
a recent change in the law that only prevented,
people from buying more than 2 nguns a month,
and ironically not a law that was passed earlier,
about automated firearms not being used in home defense.
People were willing to potentially die by the authorities,
not because their home security had been affected,
but because of the convenience,
of getting what they want when they want,
had been affected.
This is the reason why i think,
stricter gun control is actually necessary.
Rather than corpos being angry at potential rival businesses,
corporations would actually like more lax regulations,
just so they could sell more products,
and this has caused many who absolutely should not be armed,
to have legally acquired firearms over the counter.
People who have commited violent crimes in the past,
are being able to acquire deadly weapons legally.
People with a long history of irresponsible bahavior,
specifically in regards to public safety,
are being able to purchase guns legally.
People who are prone to agressive outbursts,
are being able to acquire guns legally.
These are often the people that commit gun crimes.
That is why something needs to be done.
Sure the government may only care,
when guns are pointed at wealthy businesses,
and not at other members of the consumer public,
but we have to have some argument out there,
to force political changes to aid the public,
because nobody in power cares,
if a member of the general public dies.
Don't let corporations tell you that gun rights is about rebellion,
it's not,
corporations have the security forces needed to deal with the public.
Here's the real reason
why you're afraid of the dark
in your own secure house.
Many insects
and other creepy crawlies
during daylight hours
hide from sight
or climb sheer surfaces like walls
to prevent them geting eaten
by daytime predators
such as birds, reptiles or primates.
In the dark
these creatures can move around
undetected
and so they travel to the ground
and walk across the floor.
In the dark
you are walking among insects.
Obviously these insects
want to avoid you
and prevent getting stood on
but somtimes they screw up.
In the wild
some of these creatures
may have a serious bite
and after a narrow escape
from your huge stompy feet
might take it upon themselves
to try to make sure
that you don't ever
put them in that situation again.
Humans with a fear of the dark
would be sure to
only be active during the day
thus prventing them
from getting bitten by something
and dying as a result.
Jungles are not the healthiest places
and animals don't have
access to formal healthcare.
A bite
that might be a minor annoyance to us
to an ape in the jungle
could be fatal.
