Synopsis: A shitty night leaves you in desperate need of some TLC, so you abandon better judgement and show up unannounced at Asa’s door.
Contains: gender neutral reader, themes of an abusive relationship, forced cuddling, Asa does fluff very much his own way :v
Words: 3k
Asa Emory / The Collector x Reader | When Push Comes to Shove
You can recall thinking the first time Asa invited you to stay the night that his house, with its muted-yellow paint and red brick walkway, its porch furnished with potted plants inhabiting deep clay pots and all the curtains drawn back on all the windows, was not the sort of house you’d expect him to own. His interior decor is less than subtle; still. You figure you could drive right on down his neighborhood street without ever guessing the identity of the man who lives at residence 859.
But the better you’ve come to know Asa beyond what he presents to his peers at work, Dr. Emory, professor, museum curator, the more you’ve come to realize why this is exactly the house a man like Asa would own.
You stand on the brick walkway in front of the door looking through the ornate glass window. All the lights are off inside. Off to the right, a red porch chair swings soundlessly back and forth on its thin silver chains in the breeze. You aren’t sure if you’re actually going to ring and wake him up. In fact, you’ve come prepared with a multitude of excuses to walk away which you concocted on the drive over.
Asa works very early sometimes. It wouldn’t be fair to wake him up for your own selfish reasons in the middle of the night. It wouldn’t be responsible to test his patience with a spontaneous visit. It might end very poorly for you; but being close to him tonight, in any capacity, even for half an hour, even if he’s not being kind to you, sounds better for you right now than spending the whole night alone.
So you ring it.

drops this here and books it away sorry this turned into a whole ass short story
Synopsis: You unwittingly accept a tour of the sprawling new museum you just got hired at from a very bad man handsome entomologist, who manages to stall you until the lights go out for the night.
Contains: female reader, 3rd person pov but main character’s features are left vague, violence, chasing, sexual assault, nonconsensual groping, predator / prey dynamics, manipulation, gaslighting, spanking, lightly implied drugging, asa being mean and nasty (but also deceptively charming mmm)

Asa Emory / The Collector x Female Reader | Noctuidae
The woman in the white floral blouse and long green skirt stands well off to the side of the banquet hall while an eloquent speech is given by the director on stage. The museum patrons and curators sit at circular linen-clothed tables in their nicest evening wear. Well-groomed waiters are starting to bring the drinks around along with platters of appetizers.
The woman in the white floral blouse appears outwardly to be watching the award ceremony, but she isn’t actually paying much attention.
Turning her head, she glances at one of the patron tables.
The man she’s been watching is looking very handsome tonight in his dark charcoal blazer and fitted black dress shirt. Then again, he’s handsome every time she’s seen him striding across the grand hall. She isn’t familiar with the gentleman sitting across from him, who she assumes must be his colleague; he seems of a similar age, and his dark blue suit looks just as expensive.
She looks back at the stage, not wanting to push her luck. She doesn’t actually know Dr. Emory, not at all. She just knows of him.
He’s one of the curators, which is already intimidating enough. Insect science department. Apparently, he previously taught at a prestigious university, or multiple. She’s heard different things about the man from different people.
The speech on stage doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. She’s sure it would be interesting, if she was actually paying attention, but she’s not, so it’s dragging on into monotony.
When she thinks it’s been long enough, she glances at Dr. Emory’s table again.
She quickly diverts her gaze back to the stage, her cheeks growing very hot.
He was watching her that time. Sitting straight up and watching her.
The director finishes his speech and the audience applauds. The main courses come out to the tables on trays with silver dome lids. The woman in the white blouse, desperately in need of a breather, makes her way towards the door.
In the restroom, she washes her hands and stares at her reflection in the mirror, patting her face with a damp paper towel to touch up her foundation.
Maybe Dr. Emory wasn’t really looking at her. Maybe she’s overthinking it. Why would he be?
She heads for the bathroom door, feeling a bit fresher and a bit more confident in the idea that she’s making a big deal over a whole lot of nothing.
The corridors near the banquet hall are expensively furnished and very long. She can overhear the murmur of the banquet faintly in the distance. It’ll be going on for a while, and now she’s in no rush to get back. She hadn’t chosen the first bathroom she saw, just wandered for a bit before deciding, taking in the sights.
She picks another hall, reaches the end, and turns a corner into an intersection.
“Oh! Oh my gosh, I’m sorry—“
She looks up at the man she’s walked headlong into, and blanks on the rest of her apology.
Her gaze falls immediately to his black leather dress shoes. She tries to step around him, but he steps around her too, at the same time, and she nearly bumps him again. It happens the other way, too. The laugh she squeezes out is very awkward sounding even to her own ears. Her face is flushing with heat now. She hopes her grin is enough to hide her dismal embarrassment.
“Wow—pardon me, sir, I really am sorry.”
Dr. Emory is a man with precise features and hair of a color that can’t seem to choose between blonde or brown, but the silver at the roots gives away his age. There are a few light scars on his face which she’d never noticed from a distance, but with his maintained stubble he wears them very handsomely.
His stare, at first, is a bit aloof, but it lifts quickly into something rather amused, and he regards her with a smile that makes her feel a little bit warm in her chest.
“No, no, that’s alright.” He straightens his black tie beneath his buttoned blazer, and puts his hands in the pockets of his fitted wool pants.
“Get turned around? The banquet hall isn’t back this way, if that’s where you’re headed off to.”
“Oh. Actually, I was trying to get away from it.” Shit, that sounded rude, he probably had a part in putting the damn thing together. “I mean, I didn’t mean it like that. It’s a great party, really, it’s just—“
Dr. Emory watches her, his smile unfaltering, and she stares at his tie, because she can’t look him in the face.
“Bit much to handle?” He finishes for her.
“Yeah. Yes, it is. That’s exactly what I was getting at.”
“Well, I will say, you certainly didn’t look out of place back there. Lovely blouse.”
Her stomach leaps a little and she squeezes her wrist. It was her he was looking at.
She looks up from his tie.
“Really?” She asks. “Thank you.”
“No need to thank me, it’s my honest truth.” Dr. Emory holds out his hand.
“Asa Emory.” He says. “Pleasure’s mine.”
