Ppl dont seem to realise that "only perceivably queer people should have access to queer spaces and support" and "nobody is obligated to out themselves to you and nobody needs to provide proof of their sexuality/identity" CANNOT coexist.

People are very quick to say "nobody should ever be forced out of the closet, there is no one way to be queer" but then throw a fit when someone who isnt visibly gay plays a gay character or when someone who isnt officially out acts in a ~queer way~.

I couldn’t get into warrior nun when season 1 came out because I was in a sitcom mood but BOY IF ONLY I KNEW IT WAS FUCKING SAPPHIC AS SHIT I WOULD HAVE KEPT WATCHING AHHH !!!

The thing about Avatrice's first kiss is

Ava knew since episode one that Bea has feelings for her. That she's in love.

And she also recognized Bea has internalized homophobia and might not be ready to admit it.

But if that was their last time together, Ava wants to reassure her, that Ava herself loves Bea.

She gave Bea the kiss as a gift but never expected anything from it. She's surprised when Bea correspond to the kiss. She's grateful too. And then all the emotions: pain, happiness, earning, sadness, love...

i love that it was ava who initiated the kiss because her whole arc is a journey from self to self sacrifice

but before she commits the most selfless final act, she just needs that last moment of selfishness. a reminder of why it has to be her, what has to be done, and why it has to be now. it’s her last chance. the (literal) now or never

she doesn’t know if beatrice will kiss her back. and maybe it doesn’t even really matter if she does anymore. ava just needs to kiss her before she dies. she is about to give her whole existence for the world, and all she’s asking for in return, is one last moment for herself

Next to Beatrice being tranquilized in 2x03, one of the most interesting parts of that episode was that Father Vincent had no clue what Ava and Beatrice were doing in Switzerland. So much so that when he caught them in Madrid, he immediately tranq’ed Beatrice thinking that would be enough to capture Ava. But what he didn’t realize was that Beatrice had been training Ava, so she was just as powerful of a fighter as Beatrice is.

In most things, video games, tv, whatever, you try to subdue the one that will cause you problems. In this situation, Father Vincent assumed Beatrice was the power player here, which she definitely is, but he wasn’t expecting Ava to actually have more of a grip on her halo powers. Had he gone after Ava first, he might have captured her… but I suspect not because as previously stated, there is a reason he went after Beatrice first. He knows he probably couldn’t beat her in a fight.

Basically, what I love most about this show is that there are so many angles to everything. You could look at a moment in a bunch of different ways, and still find it so interesting. At least that’s what I’m finding in all of my rewatches.
