FFXIV Headcanons - You have trouble sleeping

Estinien

He really had a thing for leaving in the morning

but that was before when he was more of a lone wolf

now that he was with you, he didn't realize it was becoming a bit of an issue for you

you didn't really tell him either

so each morning he would go not wanting to wake you

and you'd wake up in a panic not knowing where he went

and sometimes you'd cry

and after a really bad nightmare, you'd call him on his linkpearl

you needed to make sure he was alright

and although he was alright, you would finally tell him how you felt

with a little bit of effort, both of you tried to meld your sleep schedules so you would get up around the same time

even if you weren't awake before him, he would wake you up for a few morning cuddles before heading off to wherever he needed to go

honestly he would oblige and stay with you

as long as you got some much needed rest, he didn't mind laying with you until you fell asleep

that was until it started to become a problem

you couldn't sleep without him

so missions apart was always hard on you

but in those times, both of you would keep your linkpearl on so you could hear each other and talk before you sleep

and he would tell you to close your eyes and imagine that he was laying with you

it helped him out as well as he too was a bit anxious with being separated from you

After everything you've gone through, he's not surprised

he wished you didn't have such trouble sleeping

but he was more than willing to help you through it

it would be tough as he couldn't always be there with you

but he knew that there were ways to help you

he would have a wind-up doll created for you so that you could cuddle it on the more lonely of nights

and he would call you before bed so you could fall asleep to the sound of his voice

once you had returned home, he would never let you go and hold you well through the night and into the morning

Quite frankly he too felt similarly

few times too many had he nearly lost you

and it was frightening

he needed to be near you while sleeping and when you wake as he had to make sure that you were still here with him

of course you were, but he had to be absolutely sure

missions were especially hard for you

you had formed the habit of staying awake for days so that you wouldn't have to see your nightmare of losing him over and over again

but it would make you exhausted

the only solution either of you could come up with was going on longer missions together

the shorter ones were better to suffer through alone as you'd soon be together once again

while she understood your feelings, she would also know that you two couldn't always be together for sleeping

what with your job and all

you two would definately discuss this and try to work something out

sometimes you two would be off on two totally different missions

it worried her that on missions that you were at home frantically looking for her

if she could prevent your tears and your heart from sinking, she would

but for now, the best thing she could do was call you before bed and when she woke up

when she was around, she would happily stay with you and assure you that she was not going anywhere
