Lena looked at the man trying to keep her hand steady as she stared at the older man. She wished for the hundredth time that day that Rick hadn't left with Aaron. She had already been worried enough about how she was going to explain Carl's and Enid's having gone missing when she went back home to find Negan on the porch. She stood on the front porch her eyes darting from her little sister in the man's arms, to Carl sitting in the chair next to him, and back to Negan's face.

"You going to let go of my sister?" Lena asked eyebrow raised not lowering the gun. Lena had never really met the man in front of her, she was fairly certain Rick had purposely kept Lena out of way last time Negan had stopped by and had left her in charge of keeping Judith our of the man's eyesight.

Lena hadn't told her dad about the gun, especially not after The Saviors had come in and stolen all of theirs. Now she had felt a sense of relief she hadn't because there was no way she was letting this man do anything to her younger siblings more than he already has. Lena wracked her brain trying to think of another adult she could have Carl go get for help but Michonne was out, Daryl was being held hostage, god knew where Carol was. She knew Rosita was somewhere but Lena was pretty sure the two of them weren't really a match for this man.

"Now, please gently hand Judith over to Carl so he can get her down for her nap," Lena said trying to sound reasonable.

Daryl wasn't thrilled when he learned who he'd be partnered with for the day. He wasn't one to complain, but that didn't mean he wasn't seething down deep inside. He would have preferred to go with Maggie or Carol. Or even Eugene. But somehow he was paired with Negan. He couldn't even put on a brave face and pretend that he liked the man even a little bit. Nothing could be further from the truth. "Seriously?" he muttered, looking for Carol to hopefully bail him out of this one, but she had already turned and started to make a plan with Eugene.

Negan could read the archer's body language almost like he was reading a book. It tickled him to see the man go from somewhat relaxed to rigid. When he'd seen all those that had volunteered for this mission, he had secretly hoped that it would be anybody but Maggie or Daryl because it made for a tense outing. He also knew that if things got hairy out there, they'd be the first to leave his ass high and dry. "Too bad, Daryl. You're stuck with me," he teased in his usual manner. He didn't want Daryl or anyone else to think he was even the slightest bit worried about not making it back alive.

Daryl glared at him, giving a loud snort and rolled his eyes. "You better keep up, asshole. I'm not gonna dick around and wait for you to catch up." He knew from past experience that the other man couldn't keep his mouth shut to save his life, so he knew he was in for a running commentary of their day and stating the obvious. "And if you talk my ear off, I'll gag you." And he had just the thing to do it with. His dirty socks that he'd been wearing for the past three days.

"Come on, asshole. Ain't got all day."
