I forgot Trey also enabled Riddle's behavior. But he got called out by the others. And he also changed and started to tell Riddle to stop.
But still, no one do that to Moriarty team, and the manga also didn't point it out either, which is kinda unhealthy imo....
Tumblr media
In this game, overblotting means the mind is going under great emotional stress, like despair, fear, doubt..etc. The holder has to get into the state of anxiety so much that they basically go into a frenzy, like destruction (and self-destruction). In other words, it's like people having too many negative emotions building up and now they lash out at everything around and even harm/kill themselve. (Of course overblot is also because of overusing magic but it's still like those mental issues that people has irl imo)
And when you overblot, friends or schoolmates will beat the hell out of you so they could talk and help you back to your sense. And schoolmates here usually are those who normally not close to you. Those boys just see someone is harming themselve and the others so they take action, that's all. This is what I like about this game, you don't enable those harmful actions of the mental ill person.
I can't help but comparing this with how Moriarty team treated William back in TFP. I like both Azul and William and both lost themselves to their own negative emotions so I only compare William with Azul's case here.
In TFP arc, Moriarty team let William going to die without even try to stop their leader. I know Louis and Fred do few things like asking Sherlock for help but still, they couldn't even try to reason face-to-face with William first. They just "Oh it's his wish to die so I let him be", eventhough William is their close friend and family for years. In contrast, while even with so many times Jade and Floyd say they only using Azul and threaten to abandon Azul if he is less interesting (which he is when he overblot, Floyd even said that during Azul's blotting moment), those two still tried to stop Azul before and during his overblot moment. Because they wanted to help Azul back to his normal self, because they wanted to save their friend's live. Both Jade and Floyd took action (and even words too, with Jade telling Azul to stop overusing his unique magic to prevent overblot and Floyd had his own way to show he also want normal Azul back). They have been with Azul for years, like Moriarty team with William. But Jade and Floyd let their actions showing how Azul is important to them. And with Moriarty gang, they didn't even try to do or talk something against their leader, to save their leader...
I don't even like the eels or the octopus housewarden until chapter 3. But their friendship melt my heart. And after witnessing the bond of Octatrio boys, I can't help looking back at William with his gang and feel... idk how I should feel anymore...

This is the reason why many people felt frustrated and left this series
This is the reason why many people felt unmotivated to continue reading the manga
After getting hyped with the couple, there's nothing left to talk about
And not everyone is hater when people just feels let down by the story they used to love
Whoever the anon is, I hope you feel better knowing you are not alone
The most infuriating thing about this manga and fandom is the very obvious gear shift that happened after TFP which is not critiqued but praised even. Most people were drawn by plot and mystery + another Sherlock Holmes adaptation. Romance just wasn't on anyone's radar. Not to say it couldn't have been both if it was planned and executed properly. When your ship's best moments happen through flashbacks and retconns you have a problem. It's obvious that TFP was supposed to be the end but they decided to keep going and they have no plot stuff left (besides the rest of ACD canon and world history). So their genius idea was to shift into romantic territory and pretend that was the intention all along. And it worked, people are foaming at the sight of two once interesting, smart, dynamic characters sharing a flat. Seriously what even are yuumori characters nowadays, they have zero personality left? You don't need a story or side characters at this point, string two guys together and a third-wheel for exposition purposes and it sells wonderfully. Their interactions now are beautiful on their own, if we pretend every missing development happened off panel, but I can't help being a bit mad that it's a cheap tool to continue selling the manga, merch and everything else they're rolling out currently. I'm sorry this got too long, had to vent somewhere, hope you don't mind
I literally could not have said it any better.

I always think it's strange how most of people in Yuumori fandom always assume a person who doesn't ship Sherliam is homophobic and who thinks "Bondler doesn't have enough evidence in manga to be called a trans" is transphobic. And I mean, we don't even know if the person we criticize is in lgbtq+ or support the community or not, so it's all subjective assumptions. It's funny how a person who ships other BL couples in manga but not Sherliam will be judged just because they don't follow the majority of the fandom. It's also funny how the voice actors, the stage/musical actors/actress or even the author/artist using Irene or Adler when refering to the character in female appearance but the global fandom only criticize any fan to not call Bondler with that name while they are in their original female identity.
Many people got into Yuumori for the Moriarty brothers' ideal. And while Moriarty team wants to protect and defends for the Weak. Fans support their ideal but also choose to be the one who oppresses the minority within the same fandom. How ironic is that!
I'm currently playing an otome game called "Cupid Parasite". When two suitors had a small fight (due to different perspectives) and then Gill (the first suitor) made an apology to Allan (the latter), I thought a lot about how many people in Yuumori fandom (or any other fandoms) can not realized that they should actually listen and maybe try to put themselve in other people's shoes to understand different opinions. Sometimes we put ourselve too much into a character that we forget that in the end of the day, we are not them. And instead of that, we value a 2D character over an actual person (either through the internet or irl, either the person has good intention or share the same interest), it's all because the character has our empathy or has something in common with us (which makes us feel validating when defending for them). Please don't ever forget there's a diversity in a normal fandom and people can freely express their opinions either it's the same with you or not. Things should be discussed in a more peaceful way than this. Also, defending for any community is good but this is about connecting logically details in manga. And you should defend for a character or a shipping because you truly like them with all your heart, not because you want to use them to prove something for yourself, your belief or your own identity irl.
Idk why I thought of Yuumori fandom maybe because I still care. I should have cut any loose end I have with this series at this point. Still, I just hope the fandom could be a better place for anyone who feel left out. I always feel bad for any of them that I came across online.
Quoting from Gill because I thought a lot about Yuumori fandom while reading his online post in game. Also this below is the reason I decided to make this post.
"... After reflecting on my thoughts, I apologized Allan for our fight. Ultimately, we decided to respect one another and talk through over disagreement. Honestly, I think it was wrong of me to think my opinion was the only one correct in the first place. Allan and I are two different people from different backgrounds. It's okay that we have different values and ideals. I guess I forgot that and tried to push my own values onto others. That's what caused that fight I wish no one saw.
I'm really sorry about that.
From now on, we won't flat-out deny one another's opinions. However, we also won't ignore our own feelings either. We'll respect other and work together to meet in the middle and find different solutions.
When complete strangers live together, it's natural that problems will occur. We have to remember that. We are strangers after all. We should acknowledge that there're people who live by a creed different from our own. Still, that doesn't mean that we should assume the worst of someone new. Even strangers can find common ground to stand in.
That's how I want to live my life. I think connecting like that would make living much more fufilling..."
When I wanted some rom-com for my life, the things in the game stressed me out more hahaha Also Allan shares the same VA with Yuumori Sherlock, which makes me feel like I'm dating Sherlock sometimes 😓 Still, it's a good game and the plot is chef-kissed 😊
I actually never be called homophobic or transphobic when I was in Yuumori fandom. But I've seen a lot of people being judged because they just wanted to voice their opinions about the manga. Even the anime staffs are being called homophobic by some fans just because they didn't animate chapter 31. Well, although this post is a call-out for the fandom's behaviour, I don't care if I will get called by those tittles after posting it. I support the lgbtq+ community both online + irl and also to any friend of mine so those're enough. One of my friends even came out to me since 10 years ago and I still immediately accepted them. Irene/Bondler is a different and complicated case, I actually asked myself a lot before whether Bondler is a trans but manga just doesn't have enough evidence to strengthen this point. No one's opinion is incorrect here because the issue is too vague in canon, only the attitude of each person towards the others is right or wrong. This issue should have been a more peaceful discussion. Also, my most favorite fanfic writter in Yuumori fandom is a long-time and die-hard Sherliam stan (although it's funny that they never brag about "the couple is canon in manga") and they only write about this couple (actually they only write Yuumori fanfic too). I don't ship the couple but yeah, they're my fav writter. That why I don't need any confirmation from online people who will judge me for using my brain to think instead of letting my feelings to control me and accuse the others. Yuumori fandom can be insecured about the manga (I understand because there're too many plotholes) or about anything else but at least don't let your insecurity irl clouding the way you treat other people online.
If anyone wants to defend anything, feel free to comment or talk under this post or through inbox. I don't mind some friendly discussion as long as the two parties respect the other and stick to manga's logic, not to people's irl identity/issue.

Staff's Illustration from Anime DVD vol 6 ✨
Tumblr media
The Drama CD "Adventure of One Student" is somewhat interesting because they added more lines for both William and Sherlock. Sherlock also used "Moriarty-sensei" to mention William with the students instead of "Liam" like in the manga, which I think is a bonus point for IG Production. It makes more sense because the students don't know who is Liam. They added more lines to connect the conversation between William and Sherlock which is also really smart. It makes the talks flow more natural than in manga. Small details but It shows that the staffs cared.
It's just normal conversation with no tension, no playful atmostphere. I'm surprised with how it's more normal than in the musical. It means I don't feel anything special or the connection between their voices that shows flirting or anything. I admit I also don't feel touch with Bill's moment while hearing but It's just me here. But Makoto saying "Sensei" is a bless omggg!! (I'm being biased here). But then he said "Did I pass the test" in English and It was not a good pronunciation 😂
Both Makoto-san and Souma-san did a good job here, although Souma's voice sometimes was more like himself than William's.
Like I said in many social medias before, If you like this chapter (or Sherliam in particular), buy the disc to support the authors, the voice actors and the producers. It's expensive but If you love it so much, saving is still a reasonable choice.
Also, William's perfume is not my cup of tea because the fragrant is typical, nothing special 😪 The ring is beautiful and thanks to a Japanese fan, I have found the right size for daily wearing 😊

if you hate a character because they have a connection with someone from your favourite ship, or because another ship including this character and someone from your ship is more popular than yours... just admit you're hating them because of them 'ruining' your ship, instead of coming up with reasons to justify your hatred. you'll still look childish, but at least less petty.

I don't think I ever hold any hatress or grudge for Yuumori or two sensei or the fandom or any character/couple in it. I just feel sad overall because both William and Yuumori used to be my comfort character/zone for years. I admit that I had a hard time (4-5 years) and this series + William have supported me both emotionally and mentally through those times. I don't regret loving and devoting my time, my love and my money for it. I just feel lost that I'm still sad after leaving Yuumori behind. Even after months later of TFP arc, my heart still aches everytime I think of the manga. I have witnessed people come and go during my time in the fandom but never in my wildest dream that I see myself leaving.
I don't hate any party related to the series. I just feel bitter for all the things that changed, for the main ideal/objective/direction of the manga that no longer be focused. Yes love is accepting but love also is about wanting it to become better. And while I tried to turn blind eyes to the weak writing of Yuumori, its flaws and inconsistancies were too many that they overwhelmed me with uneasiness. I just wish things could be different and I would still happily support and enjoy this manga till the end. It really feels like dating a person for a long time and now we are in a post-break up phrase haha...
Time will heals my wound but the bond of the precious relationship we used to have might never be fixed. This will forever be a small part in my heart eventhough we have gone different ways. Thank you for everything, Takeuchi and Miyoshi sensei 🙇‍♀️ I owe sensei that "Thanks" and also to William. But I don't owe anyone anything with my decision or my feelings. I devoted enough to be proud of myself as a Yuumori fan. And I don't need judgement from anyone because I'm the only one who can judge myself in this broken love. I don't blame sensei for the choice they made. Sensei has chose what they think is the best for both of them and the manga. I accept it eventhough I don't agree and leaving is the peaceful thing I can do to keep my beautiful memories with this series. I have no regret, just need time to heal now.

Really don't want to come back posting with something like this (I'm waiting for Yuumori anime disc to come home so I could post the new art in there but this current issue is taking too far for my liking). Just want to make this clear with no hate feeling for anyone or any couple.
If anyone curious about why ppl hating TFP arc (I will only talk about this arc), it's mostly because:
1. The final plan of William if he thinks some fires can change anything (ppl's mind or a whole country): Look at the whole scene with a psychological view, or just let's yourself be a noble in this series. Even in the modern world, wealthy ppl can help others when in need but they won't give up their privileges that easily. Just take your time and think about it. And I will have to make a long post if I want to talk about other aspects such as economical or political views etc. Put away your emotions with the character and you will see it. I love William (he is still the love of my life) so it's really hard for me to admit that he's not a genius as he is described through the whole series and that his final plan is stupid (if you don't believe me, my older post has a pic of William's merch's shrine. I own almost every William merch so far and I also am waiting for the perfume and a 14000 ¥ ring. And not to mention Sherlock's merch because I like both of them. I don't like bragging about my collection but thats just to show how I devoted to both William and this series and still, I also find it has so many flaws).
2. Fanservice: Don't look at it with a bias shipping view and you will see why many ppl feel really cringe about that arc. I have talked with both SherLiam and non-shipping fans (most of them don't even ship Sherlock with Irene or John) and even some SherLiam fans had admitted the fanservice in it is a little bit too much (And fyi, I don't even know them at all, those are just briefly counterparts on the internet). If you only interact with other fans who share the same mind, you won't understand why because you're just in a shipdom, not the whole fandom. I'm really neutral with every couple and also is a long-time fan of this manga so I have spent a lot of time with both parties to understand each pov. And admitting something you like has flaws is hard but we're human after all and we can both love and criticize something at the same time. That's the beautiful of having a passion for something 🤗
3. The writing of this manga is weak, really weak: If it's not, then both anime and musical staffs didn't have to do the research again to change the details/plotholes or added more inner thoughts for characters in Op.3 to be more convincing if they want to make Op.4. I know many manga readers hate anime becase it cut too many scene (This series is flop so obviously the budget is limited) but if you look on other side, you will see that the staffs had to change many details so anime watchers couldn't find those flaws. It's not perfect, I admit, but I still appreciate their efforts. And I have followed this manga for years, remembered every detail/every line in it and took time to analyze plot holes so I know what I said. I also own both stage and musical disc so you can't say I take this manga lightly. This series has been a part of my heart and soul for years.
=> Everyone has different opinions and there are many ppl out there who agree with what I just said above. I know that because I have seen many posts in my country's M-A community with this topic. One has about 1500 comments and more than 700 shares. Most of them wish they could enjoy the manga but it was hard for them because TFP arc (or the whole manga) can only be excellent and enjoyable if they like the shipping. And all of those opinions are just in one of many similar posts. This is just an example but I just want to say that You might don't see it but those ppl with different pov exist. They don't talk much because they know others in the fandom might attack/criticize them for their beliefs. Judging others for some opinions they think no one agree with is extremely wrong, especially if you only see it from one pov.
Just don't let the emotional feeling you get from the manga clouding your judgment with other ppl opinions.
I know you don't think what I said is true but seriously, I've invested in this manga and the fandom for too long so I just said what I have witnessed. I was there when there was almost no content for this series and how I used to wish this manga could get more regconized. I even remember the name of every account that joined the fandom in the early days when anime first broadcasted because I was too happy for this series. At some points, I even talked with anti-fans but they usually hate it so much that they don't want to mention about it which is also why you see rarely anybody criticze this series. Still, I respect every opinion because it make me look at this manga with more diversified view!
And I'm quite salty about the fact that this manga has lose so many fans because of those issues above. I really wish things could be different and hope the plot would be better than this. Maybe It's just my fault for setting the bar too high haha

There're so many problems with YuuMori and its fandom that I now have no choice but leave. Maybe I will share the audio of "The Hunting of Baskervilles" or "The adventure of one student" aka chapter 11 and 31 in the near future or maybe not idk anymore
At first when I read "The Two Detectives" arc, the way William solves the crime is not convincing to me at all. That was why I know from that moment that this series is weak at writing. I've turned blind eyes to its flaws too many times since then. All those years with full of love for my fav series (buying light novel, comic, merchs, dvd, stageplay, musical,...). But with what happend in The Final Problem, the way William planning his final plan (so stupid) and the cringe of Sherlock hugging William to make fan service, I feel dissapointed. With the continuation of the plot about Moran, I can't feel any connection with this manga anymore. It's a shame to abandon one of my favorite series but I choose to do it eventually (A lot of flaws in this manga but The Final Problem is the last straw and now I can't feel the plot anymore)
And joinning fandom is a pain in ass with SherLiam contents everyday and no one talk about the plot, the details, the crime cases,... etc. Not to mention most fans often assume everyone like their ship and say bad things to other smaller ones. I don't hate this cp but it feels like eating one thing everyday and it becomes a grudge. I also know sensei chose to support the biggest ship because it brings more fangirls but the quality of this manga is really going down. I've met many other fans that feel the same way with me both in real life and through different social medias so those above are facts. And everyone can both love and criticize one thing (aka Yuumori) at the same time. Please don't make this fandom become more toxic than it already is. You think it's peaceful because you are in the shipdom, but it's not the whole fandom and not everyone has to share the same opinion. Some other fans are only the small amounts so they often feel scared to voice their thoughts due to the fear of getting attacked/online bullied and I feel bad for them. And fyi, I love every character in this series and don't ship anyone so you can't blame me for biasing any couple and clouding my judgement.
I wish I could still love Will with all my heart but I can't do that anymore. The whole set of DVD will be the last thing I support 2 authors. I like them a lot but this's too hard for me to continue. Even trying to understand both author's and fandom's minds is too difficult (Been doing that for so many months but failed OTL).
If anyone still love this series, I hope you can continue supporting Yuumori and our authors. And please don't love it too blindly that it makes you not realize a "masterpiece" can also have flaws.

The script is exactly the same with in manga. The only difference is the ending (A small funny scene instead of the howl of Baskerville's dogs).
If someone understand Japanese but not good at listening, they can listen to the disc while reading the texts in manga. Every sentence that the voice actors said is in the book.
It's kinda sad that anime doesn't have "Man with Golden Army" Arc because this disc also mentions about Moran and Afghan War (The scene with his old classmate) 😢
26 minutes for 2 manga chapters so it feels a little rushed 👀
