Reading TBoSaS was an eye opening experience for me because for a minute I was like Katniss and Peeta had it so much better than Lucy and these other children who were treated like literal animals- transporting them like livestock and putting them in cages not to mention the very public, dehumanizing parades. But then I was horrified at myself because I couldn’t believe myself. It wasn’t better at all, Katniss and Peeta were brought there for the same exact purpose and putting them in fancy dresses and providing them with expensive amenities doesn’t take it away. It’s still the same horrible, wretched, gruesome tradition, I just thought it was better because it was also wrapped up nicely with a pretty bow which I guess was the whole point.

It’s several more weeks before he meets Qin Su again, and it’s like having a sword shoved through his gut a second time.

He thought he’d gotten over her death in the weeks since, but apparently not.

Meng Yao’s skills at administrative work, honed to perfection over years of managing Jin sect, had resulted in a series of rapid promotions, as more and more people realized that Meng Yao was not only capable but willing to do boring meticulous drudge work and do it well. By the time Qin Su returns from her mother’s small, secluded clan, Clan Liu, Meng Yao is one of Qin Cangye’s personal aides.

He keeps his face when she thanks him for saving her life just barely. It’s so hard, when she looks so young and carefree, untouched by the grief for a lost child, of a secretive husband who never turned to her.

Meng Yao had done that to her.

I didn’t have a choice, he’d cried to Er-ge, in a temple and felt justified. In front of her sweet face, that defence dies a quiet death.

She’d killed herself, when she heard the truth, and for one moment, in between the grief, the rising terror of an unknown enemy stalking him, he’d hated her for it. Do you think you have suffered more than I? How dare you take your own life, while I still didn’t give up?

But he owes her better than that, so he smiles, and promises the Young Mistress Qin that it was Meng Yao who was honoured to have been of assistance to her. He remains perfectly cordial, always, in her presence. He doesn’t hide away, doesn’t take paths around the buildings that she frequents, even though every time he sees her again, it hurts.

This pain, at least, Meng Yao deserves.

Summary: A few months into their stay at the Cloud Recesses, Wei Wuxian wakes up weird. He goes from bothering Lan Wangji incessantly to avoiding him completely, and from getting punished practically every day to being a model student. Jiang Cheng is willing to roll with it - although it is strange that Lan Wangji seems so very determined not to be ignored…

For several long, long moments, the two of them stare deeply into each other’s eyes. Slowly, Wei Wuxian’s face goes vibrantly red.

When YZU dies, she gets the chance to change smth. So she makes it si CSSR never married WCZ

Things proceed. WCZ is a good first disciple, but unhappy. YZY tries not to care, he's alive bcs of her

JC is worse than before. W/o someone to complete against, he has no reason to get better. None of the disciples dare become better than him. JFM is still passive and YZY has no excuse

Cssr is passing the land leaving death and glory in her path. Wwx has been born and YZY hates, but there's not.much she can do.

Then, before the GuSu camp, they find CSSR s corpse. It's obviously a murder, and q cruel one at that.

JFM and WCZ bury her and make her a tablet. YZY wants to yell

Gusu happens and so does the indoctrination. YZY doesn't prepare. Wwx didn't annoy the wens this time, LP is safe.

And then the Wens attack.

Wwx is there. Clad in Wen colours. He throws JC to the side qnd storms to JFMs office. He stabs the man who should have been his father and looks over YZY. Eyes that used to be filled with fear, with respect don't even have hate in them now. Barely indifference. He steps over her and craddles CSSRs tablet and to his chest

Then, the third sun of Qishan Wen, WRHs bastard son claims domain over Lotus Pier

You know what I can’t ever get enough of?  The High Opera that is the Jinlintai Love Declaration scene in episode 42 of The Untamed.  This scene truly highlights the creative team’s commitment to both high drama and gay romance at its finest.  Truly, chef’s kiss!  

Those of you who know me probably know that I’m a big fan of Opera, especially Italian Opera, and this is by far the most operatic thing that happens in The Untamed.  Indulge me.  You see, in Italian Opera, there’s always that moment either at the end of Act III or end of the Opera when all the soloists and the entire chorus run out onto the stage to sing the big ensemble scene, often with a resounding crescendo.  It doesn’t matter what they were doing prior to this or where they were, they all just SHOW UP for the grand finale.  And that’s what happens in JGY’s Chamber of Secrets when everyone including Su She and his 50 soldiers suddenly show up to confront the Yiling Laozu with his utter EFFRONTERY to still exist.  

I’d like to first of all linger lovingly on this scene where WangXian become surrounded by the aforementioned 50 goons with their swords drawn.  The first thing Wei Wuxian does is push Lan Wangji away, and the look of utter heartbreak on Hanguang-Jun’s face is so devastating, that I’m going to need a minute before I resume.  Cry with me now.

My poor heart is given a moment of comedic respite when JGY asks Wei Wuxian to unmask himself.  Everyone makes THIS FACE (which is hilarious because we, the Audience, know that all of them except Jin Ling already knew that the man behind the mask was Wei Wuxian) and then it’s off to the races.

It’s heartbreaking that Wei Wuxian is so quick to accept that he will be alone in this, abandoned by everyone, and left to die.  He’s very matter of fact about it.  There is no judgement or blame here, he just accepts that this is his lot in life, no questions asked.  He is the Yiling Laozu and any association with him will besmirch the other party.  Of course, the party in question in Lan Wangji, the Most Devoted Man in the World, Wei Ying - you dumbass!  How many times does a man have to give you chickens to get it through that dumb, beautiful head of yours that his heart and all the other sexy parts belong only to you??? 

Before I even have the time to fully process my heartbreak, Lan Wangji draws his sword, and it’s so sexy, I’m gonna need another moment, bear with me please.

Now as soon as Lan Wangji makes it clear that he’s a) hot for trouble and b) standing by his man, Wei Wuxian grabs a hold of his wrist.  It’s very tender.  It also lasts for the next 1 minute and 13 seconds.  That’s right, these Disgustoids hold hands in front of all of polite society and Su She for a full minute plus, while men with swords continue to point said swords at them.  Iconic!  Epic!  The Gay Agenda has never looked this good!

While they do tender wrist holding, Peak Romance unfolds in the form of Lan Wangji confessing his love to Wei Wuxian by quoting his own words back at him.  In The Untamed, we don’t say “I love you,” or even “I whatever you” (the Romantic Standard), we say “The feeling of sticking to the single-log bridge until it’s dark is indeed not bad.”  This Gross Man has carried these words in his Gross Heart for all these years, through physical and emotional trauma and against the weight of societal scorn, and he finally has the chance to say them to his bae 16 years and a death later.  Can I get an OOF???

Also he makes THIS FACE while talking?  I mean…???  Can Wang Yibo please fuck off and let me live?  I guess not, that’s been made abundantly clear!

(Please ignore Netfilx’s idiotic subtitles when Wei Wuxian responds by saying “Lan Zhan ah Lan Zhan” but they translate it as something daft.) 

What happens next is what I like to call Disgustoid Banter at its finest.  Having told his man he loves him to infinity and back, Lan Wangji also tells Wei Wuxian he talks too much, and I honestly love that for them.

THEY’RE HERE, THEY’RE QUEER, THEY’RE IN LOVE FROM EAR TO EAR!

I will only leave you with this gif of Lan Wangji kicking Su She in the face because I think he enjoyed that very much and I don’t usually see this portrayed in gifs, so special thanks to Mel @significanceofmoths for always humoring me.

okay so. long story short my best friend is pregnant and we have room for her but we need help getting her a mattress and box spring to sleep on. i can get her a mattress and box spring for $390 at the store i work at. if anyone can please help us get her somewhere to sleep i would appreciate it more than you know.
