What does "summer-themed" mean, you ask? It's pretty broad! Anything you associate with summer will do. Here are some examples:

-Steve and Eddie take a road trip together as friends but the van’s AC breaks so they spend all summer wearing increasingly skimpy outfits and driving each other insane

-How Dustin and Suzie met and got together at Camp Know-Where -Cute girls (Chrissy, Nancy, Vickie, etc) keep coming to Scoops Ahoy and getting Robin flustered. Steve starts his own You Rule/You Suck tally

-The Party goes to the beach expecting a fun, relaxing time, but instead end up having to fight more monsters

-Murray and Alexei enjoy the Fourth of July Fun Fair together and NOTHING BAD HAPPENS EVER

Announcing the 2024 Summer Things Fest in the Stranger Things fandom!

This is a prompt fest (not an exchange) for Stranger Things fanworks inspired by all things summer.

What is a prompt fest, you ask? There will be about 2 weeks for anyone who wants to to submit summer-inspired prompts, then about two months for folks to claim prompts and make fanworks based on those prompts. ALL types of AO3-supported fanworks and all ships or gen are welcome! FAQs, Rules, and other helpful information are available on AO3 Here

Important Dates: (all times ET)

April 26, 2024 at 9am Prompting opens May 10, 2024 at 11:59pm Prompting closes and fest opens for claims. You can begin submitting your work at this point too. Claims will be left open until the deadline to submit works. July 12 at 11:59pm Works due July 15 at 9am First day of posting works. The number of days will depend on how many works are submitted. This decision will be made after the window to submit works ends, and will be announced on the first day of posting.

They have raccoons at the zoo in some places. The animals that would come steal our outdoor cats’ food off the back porch when I was growing up. In Europe people go to a place where you pay money to see them. Here we can just go look in the dumpster by the grocery store after sundown.

Woke: Izzy said it so that Edward could move on, a comforting lie in the service of seeing to his beloved captain’s emotional needs one last time.

Bespoke: Izzy went into the gravy basket when he got shot, where Sea Witch Buttons appeared to him and told him if he chose life, his ultimate fate was handling the customer complaint department at Ed & Stede’s Bed & Breakfast & Seafood Restaurant & Freelance Carpentry Business, and knowing this, chose death.
