I feel like a lot of readers in the fandom take words at face value.
"Elain doesn't like Lucien and wants nothing to with him"
1. We're making a lot of assumptions about a character we have no idea what's going on in her head and we never got her POV.
2. Let's say Elain does not like him (which I don't think the issue is with him as much as it is with the bond itself), who is to say that won't... change in the future? Did we forget many endgame couples started out disliking each other and then *boom* they're in love.
I get that "dislike" card is used to invalidate one ship and prop up the other, but like we have no clue what Sarah has planned for these characters and what she initially planned for Elain and Lucien, she saw something that appealed to her as an author and how she would like their stories to play out. We don't know if what she said about Lucien and Elain years ago stands true today but it doesn't erase the fact that she put them together because she saw they both can heal together in the future.
"Azriel wouldn't even consider Gwyn a friend."
Umm... we do know Az has no friends outside the IC that we know of nor is he the social type. When Clotho told him she would tell Gwyn it's a gift from a friend, it threw him off because it's the first time he is labeled as a friend to another person that is not part of the IC.
People act like Gwyn is damned to never be Az's friend because of that phrase but... even after that they're interacting more. He will continue alongside Cassian to train the Valkyries so he'll be around Gwyn and the others more.
So whenever someone points that out to me I'm like, did you dismiss the entire section below that quote? Why are you taking it at face value? It makes sense he never thought of her as a friend yet because they're not at that level but they could be.
What is said in present tense doesn't mean it's not subject to change in the future and we saw that more than one time in Sarah's books.

Gwynriel Weeks Day 7: Aesthetic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Repost with credit to @procastle_studios and @foreverinelysian is allowed!
Happy Gwynriel Weeks everyone! So beyond excited to show off this commission I won in an art raffle by @procastle_studios! The minute I saw this I knew it would be perfect for today’s prompt. I love how Gwyn is glowing while Azriel is in partial darkness, the white ribbon against the black shadows, and how they’re both wearing armour, but with colours for them💜
I am so in love with the finished product and I could not be more grateful to @procastle_studios for doing such a stellar job on this art.
I hope you all love it!
