i just got an anon about not writing image descriptions on my posts (which are screengrabs) because it's "r*tarded"

amazing how much of an asshole people can be

A blog I follow got an anon ask like “please just post images without adding dumb captions to them” and it made me consider how many people have been trained into thinking as if all public blogs are supposed to be like “media content” for their consumption and should be made with any “audience” in mind, like they’re television channels or something. Blogs can also be that and sometimes it varies from post to post on the same blog but the point of these is SUPPOSED to be that they’re personal fun we’re just leaving in the open to see who else shares our sense of fun, or opinions we care about, in the same way kids will draw at a table where everyone can see and some of them can sit down to draw as well.
