Wingifies / @skycowboys -ifies my four favourite horses in Red Dead because I’m replaying and because cried over each of these, especially Isabelline at the end of the main story quest.
Bonus: My favourite Cherrybomb is a snake stomper and has cost me many 3 star snakes.
I didn’t forget the tail feathers! I was just caught between getting mad at the lack of extensive research into all tail feather types beyond swallow-tails and many anxiety attack :D
I get asked quite a lot: Are tail feathers important.
Yes! Yes they are! Very important!
There is outrageously not a lot of research on tail feathers and how it impacts flight, lift, drag, or anything else so I had to make my own paper models and use a hair dryer for a wind tunnel to test lift. :D I have so many papercuts now.
I had to split the tail feathers up and make my own chart because there is no official determination or umbrella grouping of different tail feathers. Accessory tail feathers like you see on peacocks and such will be in the second part.

“This isn’t a project that is just for show. I really can help you fly again. I’m the only one who can give you your wings back.”
In the light of the rediscovery of the Sirocco Project, Griffin has been doing all she can to stop Core from taking the Sirocco sisters back, and has drawn attention to herself from their original creator, Professor Eve Mira. Now considered to be a flight risk by Core and with the Major not wanting her back, Griffin is ordered into Eve Mira’s latest project, Gregale, where she promises she’ll be rewarded for her service and to be compensated for all that has happened to her by being given new wings.
However what she did not anticipate was to be made the Handler to the Gregale Project’s group of damaged Avios and keep them safe as they await their new wings, at the same time as trying to manage her own resurfacing trauma.
Second book of the Compass Projects Series.
Gregale!!!
Featuring Griffin along with characters from both Sirocco, Stormbite, as well as all brand new ones, Gregale continues on shortly after where Sirocco left off, with Griffin being sent to be part of the Gregale Project on a tiny island in the middle of the Persian gulf, and try to keep them safe and investigate any chaos that ARCDA faction, Delta might cause. However, things never go according to plan for Griffin.
Took a lot of work, thanks to an overabundance of anxiety that only the year 2020 could create, and I absolute hate KDP for their print pricing costs because it forces the paperback price to be more expensive than I would like it to be. Self-publishing/editing is hell and I don’t recommend it to anyone.
However, if you like characters with wings, bionics and prosthetics, LGBTQA+ Characters, and found family dynamics, then this might be a series for you!

Finally finally finally redrew Flecha as a little kid because the original original version of her from 2008 was a traced mess with me having no clue of how to draw. Her baby wings aren’t as patterned as her adult wings.
So this Rule of Claw DnD game I’m running is fun, especially when I get to include pirates, dinosaurs, random wild magic effects that cause chaos, salty aasimar medics who are only 1 spilt espresso away from murder.
Its been the only thing lately that’s been getting me through the week.
So due to health (both physical and mental), Covid related chaos, and KDP being inflexible, I’ve had to take off the preorder link and set back Gregale’s release to December 6th-8th (depending on how long it takes to process the paperback), just to give time to polish and fix things up a little more.
This is mostly because I couldn’t meet the original deadline in time, and didn’t realise you could only halt the date twice with KDP before it auto publishes whatever you’ve already uploaded even if it isn’t finished.
Hi, just wanted to say thank you for the massive wing study done! I have to reconsider shape in the way of having an angel and a phoenix character to put them on, but as I am working on habitat and diet differences -especially for the latter species- this gives new, awesome perspective and consideration! Thank you for the hard work put into it all! Also, pretty newbie artist here XD
I’m glad it’s given you some inspiration and food for thought :D !!!!
Hey, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love Stormbite, and that it's actually my new favorite book! I've wanted wings since I was a little kid, and this really brings out a lot of that. I love the thought that went behind the sci-fi in the book, and I especially love how the characters develop and interact with each other! Aside from my ramblings, I love your book, and the Stormbite universe. Thank you for writing it! (BTW, every time you draw Amell, it increases my lifespan by 10 years)
sc r ea ms ;;; A;;;;A;;!!! I’m so glad that you liked it and like Amell!
Finishing up some forgotten thumbnails that I ended up crashing in motivation to complete. Very lazy with this one, and wasn’t fully happy with the layout so kept on tweeking it. May come back to this again later when i’ve more energy.
