Just gonna say that I've been looking at X-Men stuff for the past few weeks now and I just gotta say that I think everyone can't seem to grasp that Gambit and Rogue are both allowed to be hurt/upset at the same time?

I would make a full on rant about it but I also feel like my words aren't wording right today. Anyways, I think Rogue and Gambit are both allowed to be upset in the situation they were in.

I also think everyone like, doesn't understand either of their characters? Especially with Rogue? So many meanspirited comments at her...Jesus Christ lol

Opinion no one asked for but I actually don't like the theory that Gambit is Scott's brother lol

Nothing against it I just don't like it personally? Idk I kinda just want Gambit to be his own thing without being a clone or lost brother to someone.

Before anyone thinks I'm a buzz kill just know I do like some stories/AUs where he is a creation of Sinister or something if done well but other than that I don't really like him being related to the Summers.

The first drawing is Polites after the Polyphemus scuffle, and the second one is him slightly healed up letting Odysseus rant to him.

Polites in my head is taller than Odysseus, he's just slouched because it hurts to fully stand. I'll draw them as humans someday

The best thing about making Marvel AUs is that I can grab any characters who literally have no interaction w/ each other and smash them together in an unlikely friendship/team up (and perhaps ships).

He's supposed to be like 18-20 in the show I think so I tried my best to make him look younger here than how I normally draw him lol.

Y’all I love Gambit but honestly I think a lot of the time he suffers from poor writing and I feel like the writers hate him, which is why he’s written poorly most of the time, but instead of like killing him off (permanently) or handing him off to someone who actually wants to write him, they just keep dragging it lol.

I especially see bad writing with his solos, and also there is one I read where he kept saying no but the woman just yanked him into the room and it seemed like he willingly cheated on Rogue but like, he kept saying no and the woman just ignored him. Same thing when Mystique practically forced herself on him and then it was just written off like he was overreacting.

Again, love his character (from all the things I’ve read/seen so far, I haven’t read every single comic he’s been in), but I really do think he suffers from poor writing and it sucks because I love his character concept.
