I'm Ophelia! 23 years old -- they/them -- ace -- white-- autistic -- This is not a cohesive blog AT ALL, but I like the mcelroys, books, and fiction podcasts. Until the bot infestation is fixed, I'm blocking anyone with an empty blog/bio who tries to follow me. (Just put ANYTHING in your bio and you'll pass the turing test!)

me trying to convince myself that the whole spectrum of human emotions is a good and necessary thing to feel even if its not comfortable while im actively experiencing emotions that make me feel like my bones are being dissolved in acid
I hate the “we should have child free cafes but not dog free cafes” and the “kids shouldn’t be out in public” shit that’s getting popular again cause whenever you ask them why they hate kids they say their loud annoying etc.
Just because another person is inconvenient for you doesn’t mean they don’t get to exist in public.
Thinking about the time I tried out a fiction podcast and got bored immediately but left it on for the whole first episode because my cat was visibly invested.
the scariest thing about old tv isnt really the racism or the sexisim because you kinda go in braced for that it's all the scenes where suddenly an actress is holding a lion cub or a chimpanzee is in the same room as a toddler, or suddenly theres a lion, or there's a chimpanzee again but it's driving a car, or holding a lighter, or holding fireworks. You just kind of watch in horror as over and over an actress performs with only 1960s tv film shootings best animal handling between her and the opening to Nope.
What I learn from Science & Technology Studies is that you shouldn't blindly trust science because there's a fair amount of fuckery (mostly unintentional but sometimes not) going on in the background, but you also shouldn't *not* trust science in the way that most people who don't trust science don't trust science.
