5 things your character can't do while speaking

Choke. Just think about it, seriously. Think about what choking is and imagine speaking while it’s happening. That would fuckin’ hurt, man.

Hiss. Look, it’s just not possible, okay? No matter how “evil” you want your character to seem.

Snarl. Animals snarls. The Beast from Beauty and the Beast snarls. The Hulk snarls. You know who doesn’t snarl? PEOPLE WHEN THEY’RE SPEAKING.

Shriek. Come on, 99% of the time, “shriek” is not the word you want.Let’s face it: if you put an exclamation point at the end of the sentence, your reader gets the picture. Don’t bring to mind banshees and screaming toddlers.

Sneer. I’m not even going to bother explaining this one. “SNEER” ISN’T EVEN A SOUND.

Self-Love Jar Spell Recipe!!

This jar spell aids in compassion, forgiveness, and healing regarding self-love.

Ingredients:

- Rose petals: romance and love

- Vanilla extract: energy and mental strength

- Thyme: strength and courage

- Orange essential oil (or orange peels): to awaken joy

- Bay leaves: wishes coming true

- Rose quartz chips: love, compassion, peace and healing

- Malachite chips: commitment, self-worth, and forgiveness

- A pink candle

- A jar for your spell

- A fire-proof jar or candle holder to use while burning your candle

- A self-love sigil (the one below is an example, or you can create your own)

Instructions:

- Cast a circle or cleanse your space however you prefer, and light your candle

- Draw the sigil out on a small piece of paper

- Place the ingredients in the jar one at a time, repeating your intention in present-tense wording (see the wording for the sigil as an example). Focus on feelings of loving yourself, forgiving yourself for past mistakes and allowing yourself to let go and move on. Think of things about yourself or things you do that spark joy.

- Place the sigil in the bottle last, or you can tie it around the top of the jar if you prefer. You could also write the sigil on the cork of the bottle if that speaks to you.

- Close your jar and seal it with candle wax, while focusing your intention for the spell firmly on the jar. Imagine the wax sealing in all of your love and intention.

- Blow or snuff out the candle. Place your spell someplace you will see it often, like by your mirror where you get ready every day or your makeup. Or carry it with you to promote healing and self-love.
