Good day lords and ladies! This fine, freckled, noisy, skittish, scaly specimen could be by your side in the days to come! Requirements are nothing short of a chore, but won’t she make it up to you? Just: >Feed her twice a day. >Remember to put a futon inside the closet you lock her up in. >Give her five shots of aged rye whiskey if there are noise complaints.

In all seriousness, Uta is way too much of a developed character for me to let sit and rot on my character screen inbetween the occasional crafting and Rabanasty grind, so I wish to get her more out there! Currently, Uta is homeless and skulks around the streets of Kugane inbetween performances for gil. Not many bypassers seem keen on sparing gil for her music, and thus her stomach has begun to rumble. As Starlight closes in and the nights get colder, the bard keeps an open eye for any flyer, poster or rumor to put her in a direction. What I’m looking for is primarily an FC. Uta is a person who can fit in anywhere that has a certain jack-of-all-trades element to it. I’ll be primarily interested in any sort of family-esque establishment, but I’ve also done performance RP in the past and thus I’ll be very much interested in venues that allow such as well… Assuming they’d take in a homeless bard, ofcourse. If none of these are to be found, Uta will love to accompany an adventuring gang to sing songs of their travels and feats in return for food. A new shamisen strings. She broke one a few days ago. FFXIV Write 2017 | Part 10: “Slap” Starring Seriho Minami | Mild Harassment and Violence

Not everything in her life was ‘graceful’, in fact a fair few things were. She made it her art to make things look more serene then reality would allow. Sometimes that meant suffering indignities. Sometimes that meant washing blood off her scythe. It was all about controlling the perspective people had on her. 

So when she felt a hand swat at her behind on an Ul’dahn street, there were calculations that ran through her mind. She was in a decent enough mood though. No one was going to die today. Lucky bloke, though. It wasn’t like she wouldn’t kill someone for less if she wasn’t in good spirits. 

Instead, she stopped in her tracks. This startled the smacker, who bumped into her. She took the chance to wrap her slender tail around his wrist, a tight grip that prevented him from retreating. She looked over her shoulder with a dark, predatory smile. “You aren’t going to make it worth my while?” she obviously feigned disappointment. 

“I, uh, I just bumped into you, I’m so-”

“Tsk,” she tightened her tail’s grip on his wrist. He was a tall man, but his complexion said ‘midlander’ regardless. His hair was dark, he had a few day’s scruff and wore a merchant’s clothes. Unimpressive. “If you’re going to lay hands on a woman, it’s most polite to finish her, darling. But I suppose you do look the kind to get your joy and run off.”

He puffed up his chest and pulled his hand away. She pulled it back in close to her rear. Seriho was in a fairly revealing blue dress, one that matched her hair very well and made the green of her eyes stand out. It also showed leg, which was certainly not a minor asset for the Raen. “Listen here you who-”

“Oh, honestly,” she rolled her eyes. The fact that they weren’t moving was starting to get attention from the passers by, some were slowing down to gawk. Some stopped altogether. “A good whore makes more than a night than you do in a moon. Why men think it an insult eludes me. You might as well just call me rich,” she shrugged, and tugged his wrist to make the point that he couldn’t mimic the gesture. 

He made a low growling noise and spat as he spoke; “I’ll call the Brass Blades if you don’t unhand me this instant!” he threatened. 

Seriho was not afraid of police. Lying convincingly was an art form for her, and she didn’t even need to use it in this case, but he opened an amusing chance for her. 

“Unhand you,” she flashed a grin, and constricted as tightly around his wrist as she could. With a solid yank, she began walking again. She heard him gasp, she could picture his eyes going wide as he realized what was about to happen, and then the horrible crack of breaking bone rang out on the street. “You can keep that hand, ser. I suspect I know where it’s been,” she beamed, her tail unwinding from around his now shattered wrist, “but I trust that makes my point.”

Seriho almost hoped he would come at her in a rage, she pictured the thrill of the fight, of planting him face-first into the street, of stepping on his head before the crowd, and finally, of watching him flop and flail as he passed back into the Lifestream. Just give me a reason, she thought. But when he dropped to his knees, sobbing before the audience that had gathered around them, she wasn’t disappointed. 

And she walked off to continue her errands, leaving the humiliated groper groping both a shattered wrist and shattered pride.

That Same Old Song and Dance

Rommie looked over the woman who presented herself skeptically. Why did Raen usually look good in blue? Was that a racial trait? Even the ones who weren’t porcelain pale seemed to look best in blues. Suzuran, with her bright pink hair, should’ve clashed somewhat with the color but it was even flattering on her. On this one, this Seriho, it looked good, if perhaps a little forced. 

Then again, a lot about Seriho felt forced to Rommie. Like she wasn’t meant for this. Damned if she knew what this person - who looked for all the world like Shiva’s daughter - was supposed to be doing, but Rommie doubted entertainment is where she belonged. 

Even so, Seriho worked for Inara at the Whispered Wish. Inara was Rommie’s friend. More than that, Rommie supported the Wish and in turn Inara supported the Pakshee. So, if Seriho wanted to force herself into the mold of a courtesan performer, and was aware that other options lay before her, Rommie wasn’t going to pass judgment on the decision. Maybe it was a dream of fame and celebrity that drove the Raen to something she was evidently not cut for. 

“Music, dancing, these are the most popular forms of entertainment in Eorzea. You’ll find song in bars, at the Nanawa Mines, on boats, hell even a furniture store is looking to host a concert. But, most performers aren’t going to be Savo and Marcy. Savo and Marcy didn’t start as Savo and Marcy. If you’re good, and more than that, if you’re lucky, you’ll get the chance to get famous. For most performers, though, it’s getting a gig where you can, and making ends meet elsewise. Which, I suppose, brings us to the other thing you want to learn.”

Your character is a native La Noscean, or frequents the area! The Grey family is well known to those of all social standings and castes for being rather eccentric and wealthy, having made a name for themselves generations ago within the community with their funeral home business. 

Your character is a follower of the arts. Isolde has been making a splash in the theatre circle since the age of ten, and has continued to do so for the past eleven years. Though she started her career as an accomplished ballet dancer, she has been rapidly gaining attention for her beautiful vocals and been featured as both supporting and lead characters in several light operas across Gridania, Ul’dah, and Limsa Lominsa.

Your character frequents La Noscean taverns. Isolde, though from old money, has come to prefer simplicity over extravagance, and often goes to perform more traditional music in several different taverns. If it isn’t her talent that immediately catches your eye, then her beauty certainly may. 

You’ve seen her or even interacted with her while dealing with one of her brothers or her father. Maybe your character fought Cedric in a pit, enjoys Cecil’s poetry (or is a jilted ex-lover of his), went on one of Cyrus’ large hunting expeditions, or buried a loved one with the help of her father. 

Maybe your character has heard the rare rumors that she’s related to the Caver Family Sideshow and would really just like to hear more about bearded Aunt Jenny or her conjoined second cousins.

These are just a few potential ideas. I’m totally open to anything anyone else may have! Isolde is a character designed to be able to interact with most anyone - even shady characters, despite how good a character she is. There are rumors that her father sometimes engages in less-than-reputable dealings, and her brother Cedric likely has an abundance of underworld friends. High-society characters and those less well off alike could easily have run into Isolde at one point or another.

I’m open to most RP styles - mature, violent, fun, adventurous, silly, etc., - but like most people, I have my limits. I will not engage in any RP that involves sexual violence being acted out, will not kill, permanently disfigure, or permanently paralyze my character, and will not ERP. Isolde will eventually be in a relationship with my boyfriend’s character. However, if your character takes a liking to her romantically, that’s 100% okay with me, and even realistic. Just please remember that it can’t go very far! 

I am absolutely willing to do pre-established relationships, if that’s your thing, or do initial meetings! Eventually, I’m hoping to find people who may be interested in temporarily playing family members for different RPs - both the Grey and Carver sides. Please reblog and help a girl out! A quick Google search of the mod’s author, NaughtyWeaver, should get you to his work. There’s a small fee, but honestly just getting rid of the stupid ‘no-shoes sandals’ is worth the price of admission.
