Quick update.

There will be no new chapter this week. It seems like everyone in my household decided to became sick with the worst illness I have ever had. I was in bed for over 13 hours yesterday willing myself to feel better.

While none of us have gotten checked by a doctor (because really who wants to go out when you feel this shitty??), I spoke with a nurse and she thinks it’s either the flu or COVID. She thinks COVID personally given the wide range of mismatched symptoms.

Great. What’s the point of being vaccinated if I feel like hell?? I am bitter and really sick and whiny.

Anyway, I have seen your asks but can’t be assed to answer them right now. I don’t even know if this message makes sense because my head is pounding right now.

On a weird note, what’s going on with ff.net lately? I’ve been getting such negative reviews over there. Talk about not wanting to post there with their anti-Ginny agenda.

AU where Sirius raises Harry

The bedtime routine was the worst. Every night, Harry cried out for Lily and James. The day he stopped was the hardest for Sirius because his godson finally realized they weren’t coming back. That night, Sirius didn’t sleep for a minute and just held his godson the way his best friends used to, so he would know that he would be there for him for as long as he lived.

AU, where Blackinnon raises Harry - Sirius bought Harry a leather jacket for his birthday, and when Ginny's birthday came along, Harry insisted he had to gift her a leather jacket because she loved his so much… he also got her a little heart necklace. Ginny was ecstatic when she opened her present and hugged Harry tightly, tackling him to the ground and kissing his cheek, leaving him stunned and blushing with a goofy look on his face. Sirius and Marlene knew that day their godson was goner, and James's claim about Potter having a thing for redheads was 💯 true. It was the same look James had when Lily kissed him for the first time. Right after tackling Harry, Ginny gave her sunglasses to Arthur to transform into frames like Harry’s while she hurried inside to put on Ron's black t-shirt, which Molly shortened to fit her better. She insisted they had to match, and she asked Sirius to take a picture of them. Sirius had a lump in his throat when he took this photo because, just like James used to stare at Lily instead of the camera, Harry was doing the exact same thing with Ginny. It took Marlene five tries to get Harry to look at the camera, and not Ginny, who kept giggling at the way Harry was looking at her with a dopey smile.

No surprise, Ginny is 100% my favorite. Especially the way you write her. ❤️

I’d say Ginny.

She is such a funny, intelligent, badass lady. She takes shit from no one. She’s confident. She loves fiercely. She’s family-oriented.

What is there not to love??

I really wish I had Ginny’s ability to just tell people to fuck off.

Ok great chapter, i'm LIVNG for the hole "mind-breaking" plot, but, can we take a moment to talk about the hilarious sex banter at the beginning?👏👏👏

So you can be funny, scary, sexy-funny, angsty, fluffy, is there anything you can't write?

Also, I loooove when the characters the writers love, get angry or do stupid things, i can't stand perfect characters who always say or do the right thing, or do no wrong (i actually like book Hermione a lot more the fil Hermione, because she was a pain in the ass in the books, and all-knowing and good in the films). I loooove when they fuck up and their emotions win over sense and logic. All this to say i love desperate Sirius not comforting cepeheus (i mean i love it as a part of the story, poor cepeheus 😢) and i loooove Ginny getting angry with Marlene. I'm here to defend all the angry teenagers, you go girls!!

The sex banter was so much fun to write. I worried people would be annoyed with me because we have a cliffie of Harry being poisoned and then the next chapter opens up with sex.

I like to make my characters seem like real people. I also like writing characters age appropriate. So I’m glad you appreciate these characters so much!

Let's be honest, the people that complain about Gin's behavior wouldn't complain if the person behaving like that was she-who-must-not-be-named.

This reminds me of the Fleur discussion, that many people single out Ginny in her shitty behavior towards Fleur(That was justified, because Fleur was disrespectful towards her), and in the same breath defend she-who-must-not-be-named(who was shitty because of jealousy)

Well, not only that but Fleur was insulting Molly’s cooking and such too, wasn’t she? So, of course, being a family-oriented person, she’s going to be upset.

But you’re also right. Nobody ever calls she who just not be named out for anything. She’s so perfect yet somehow Ginny is the bitch. PUH-LEASE.

I don’t get why people think Ginny was being disrespectful. It just showed me how much she loved him and I love that she’s so in love with him and all of her morals are out the door when it comes to the people she loves, especially Harry.

I have to say that the Sirius you have created who has this incredible gift where he can at anytime have the thing he wants most in the world -interactions with all the people he’s loved and lost in his life- but is too emotionally scarred and full of self loathing to actually use it and embrace it has really created such a full rich character to read. It’s sad and frustrating but really fits him after everything he’s been through. I hope Harry at least gets to embrace this opportunity that Sirius can’t seem to allow himself. Great Chapter!

Sirius is so complex and interesting to me. I hate when he’s watered down in fiction. Give me some broody, grumpy, trying his best Sirius who will snap at everyone at the drop of his hat yet is so soft with Harry that you can’t possibly stay mad at him for being an utter asshole sometimes.

I also love how there's a burning fire but there are also these smaller developments that are still engrossing and making me feel things beyond the overarching "holy crap".

Speaking of, somewhere down the line we need a Ginny and Marlene faceoff with Sirius and Harry just feeling tormented and distraught. 😁

I feel like I’m constantly juggling some very big and some very small balls when I write. I know my writing style is… tedious. I like to go into depth with character’s thoughts and struggles and relationships.

I’m glad you’re ready for an eventually Ginny and Marlene showdown. I think they are both very strong and stubborn women who find themselves butting heads more often than not. I also like that not all the good guys gets along with every other good guy. Sirius and Dumbledore are constantly butting heads, Ginny and Marlene are struggling to find common footing and they both want to because of Harry, Sirius and Remus are good one chapter and fighting the next, Ron and Ginny are the champions of sibling bickering but they would legit hurt anyone who touched their sibling, and so on and so forth. I think it makes characters more believable and real.

But, yeah, Harry and Sirius would not enjoy those two going at it.

What was the weirdest interpretation someone had about a chapter in your fics?

Last night when I read this ask, I was going to say that I didn’t really have any except for people who skim-read my stories and just not understand what I actually wrote. It’s very obvious when I get a review of a skim-reader. I just had one who told me I didn’t understand how the Fidelius Charm actually works and I was so confused why they would say that. Obviously, they skim read most of the story up until the attack on Grimmauld Place because the entire point was trying to break the Fidelius with brute force and failing.

But I woke up to two reviews both bashing Ginny after this last chapter. And I thought that was odd to call her a “bully” and a “bitch.” This puzzled me greatly. Ginny snaps at Marlene last chapter because she’s scared/upset and gets called out. But Sirius has been snapping at people all fucking story and nobody calls him out. Sirius is a beloved grumpy character (as he should be) but Ginny automatically gets labeled a bitch on the rare occasion she flips out. Let’s face it, she hasn’t snapped at people nearly as much as Sirius has.

In the same way people called out Dora last chapter in a surprising way and not Sirius who (again) snapped at her. I write Dora as a very sunshiney happy person. I wrote her in that moment as her trying to lighten the mood, to make Sirius laugh or to bitch about Order members (because let’s face it, Sirius enjoys a good bitching session). Her attempts to lighten the mood failed because Sirius isn’t easily distracted when he’s upset.

But, anyway, the way people hate the female characters but love similar male characters just make me sad. It was the same thing In Legerdemain where Lily was hated by loads of people yet Teddy and James had very similar personalities to her and they were loved.
