The Grim Aurora of Trifecta - Zine Preview

Finally, I get to share this!

As of last year, I was selected to be part of a Sam and Max fanzine along with other artists, writers, and creators to create this amazing project. I had some obstacles with my part of the zine, but I’m happy to see the final product of my fanfic and everyone else’s amazing work. 

For now, here is the preview of the story, a little promotional poster, and a small blurb of what’s to come:

When the Commissioner assigns Sam and Max on a peculiar case with fairytale-like proportions that involve finding his nephew, the Freelance Police may get more than what they bargained for when Max tampers with the evidence. Joined by their hero, Flint Paper, the three must work together to save lives, defeat the bad guys, and feast on treats all within 2,500 words of appropriate mayhem!

Sam and Max: The Alternate Dimensions Zine Is Out Now!

Hello! I know it’s late and all, but I wanted to share this since this came out a few hours ago. I took part of a Sam and Max AU zine along with other writers and artists on Twitter. I am so honored to have myself and my Seven Deadly Vices AU chosen for the zine. Everyone has worked so hard to make this zine on time and I am happy with the results. Above is the link of how to get the zine for free.

My piece is a short one shot where the Vices decide to create a Video Time Capsule for the future/alternate dimensions. Short, sweet, and has a surprise at the end!

To promote the zine (and the latest chapter of Seven Deadly Vices), I drew Pumpkin (in his current state so far) reading the zine. Once again, I need to practice but I feel like I got a handle on the ears this time! The flowers are the vices that have been taken back so far in the story. I hope this is okay.

Ability: Can develop a hammerspace world inside his stomach at will/can make himself heavy

Distinct Feature(s)/Outfits: More than often has something in his mouth. Doesn't mind flowers or anything. Sometimes would wear a napkin or scarf around his neck when he feels like it. Would sometimes wear black when he's in a negative mood.

Personality: Voracious, eager, hyperactive, obsessive, does things at his own pace and keeps to himself, quiet most of the time, go-with-the-flow, persistent

Description: Hefty represents Max's Gluttony and voracious appetite. He is always eating or drinking something, having a seemingly endless hunger for nearly anything and everything. He is gluttonous in different ways that he would sometimes do something a little too much. He tends to keep to himself and goes along with anyone he's with. Hefty will not bother you unless you bring attention to yourself. He is also part of the Desire Trio with Cassius and Seine. He seems light-hearted in comparison, but do not be fooled. If he likes you a lot or you have a close bond with him, he will get hungry and devour you, sending you into a hammerspace world inside his stomach where only he could let you out. He could be a bit possessive when this happens, wanting his close relationships safe along with his collections. Hefty is usually happy and wants to focus on the optimistic side of life. He hangs out with Cassius the most.

It wasn’t done on my birthday, but I managed to update “Seven Deadly Vices” once again in this short yet sweet chapter. Here we get cameos from a certain chicken actor and rat neighbor and another vice captured while Pumpkin is thinking about things.

Originally, I wanted to dive deep into Hefty as a character since he is part of the Desire Trio and both Seine and Cassius have their own thing. You kind of get hints of it in this chapter and the third one, but there is more to Hefty’s character aside from his appetite. However, I did not want to drag the chapter too long and break the flow of the story. You’d get more Hefty in later one-shots and especially “The Vice’s Playhouse”, but for now you can have this.

The next three chapters are going to be great and I hope I could deliver what I promise to the best of my ability. Until then, please reblog, like, comment, kudos, and enjoy!

Distinct Feature(s)/Outfits: His movement is very flowy like water. Out of the vices, he is the one that chooses to wear clothes most of the time. Likes dresses, skirts, suits, oversized shirts, and so forth. Refuses to wear shoes if he could help it. Never wears pants. Ever.

Personality: Attention-Seeking, Sadomasochistic, touch-sensitive, creative, expressive, obsessive, go-with-the-flow, calculating, cunning, flirty, melodic

Description: Seine represents Max’s Lust and Views on Romance which seem to be all over the place. He is also the part of Max who likes to wear clothes from time to time, so Seine is usually shown wearing something. His idea of showing and receiving affection is biting Sam, being thrown around, and grabbed by the ears. Seine would speak French from time to time, but only a few words or phrases he knows. At first, Seine would seem agreeable and innocent as if an out-of-character Max until his true intentions show him to be someone who would do anything to get what he wants. When it comes to Sam however, Seine wants Sam and Max’s feelings for each other to come naturally. Not only does Seine have a close bond with Jesse (Wrath) due to Max’s love for violence and chaos, but Seine is also a member of the acclaimed Desire Trio along with Cassius (Greed) and Hefty (Gluttony). Out of the trio, Seine acts as a somewhat Voice of Reason when things get too drastic but he would happily indulge and encourage Cash and Hefty with their wants and needs. Seine and Pumpkin have a rivalry which will lighten up after the events of the debut fic.

Personality: Vain, prideful, competitive, confident, cool, boastful, egotistical, stubborn, reserved

Description: Dempsey is Max’s Prideful vice that represents Max’s Pride which is mostly dominant whenever Max takes on his role as president of the United States. He took Max’s left foot when Hugh Bliss separated Max’s bliss. Although he has the aura of being a leader and claims to be so with the other vices, he shares a rivalry with Cassius who also acts like the leader. Nonetheless, Dempsey will take charge and get things done, even if the thing he’s doing isn’t exactly the right choice. He may be pushed to the side in comparison to the others, but Dempsey still stands out. He interacts with Superball the most and tries to encourage both Sam and the other vices to step up to the plate. He mostly uses his limited psychic powers to show off. Considers to be “friends” with Morpheus and Seine.

Merry Christmas everyone with an update to Seven Deadly Vices!

I may be busy the next couple of weeks and months due to the transition of going to my Masters, but I really wanted to do something special for Christmas, so I buckled down and finished the next chapter of one of my popular fanfiction so far. I have gotten some amazing feedback and encouragement for this AU that is motivating me to continue writing, so thank you so much!

This chapter has everything: hints, romance headcanons, references, dancing, Sybil, and a fan favorite: Seine the Purple Lagomorph of Lust! I was a little nervous writing the chapter since a lot of people like him as a character and I wanted to give his character justice as well as insight. Thanks to @lemonbaloni for the amazing ideas as well as the artwork along with the other people within platforms who has shown me art and memes based on Seven Deadly Vices. They mean so much for me this year. 

The next chapter may not come until next year, but I hope you enjoy this one.

My special interests aside, I agree that the game although a nice fresh start and was influenced more with the comics and Hit The Road phase of Sam and Max, has some flaws.

Maybe it’s just my interpretation of it and me connecting the dots between games, but to me I think there is a reason for that distance.

Back before the game came out, I kind of had theories what the game would be about (even though I had a feeling they wouldn’t dive that deep) theme-wise. Mainly:

• Sam (after the events of season 3 and that one time they saw their future selves 😭) is worried about the future, so he wants to recruit promising cadets so they could fill in if Sam and/or Max can’t

• After what Max had gone through, Max sticks to the present, wants to be young, and he’s territorial. He does not want a cadet at all

• The fact that it takes place 11 years after Season 3 and the implications of it all if you think about it

To me change is a big factor as well as nostalgia. Also if you take these into account, perhaps there’s some sort of conflict or hidden issue that causes Sam and Max to not be as close. Again, that’s up to fan interpretation and how far you want to go as a creator, but it’s something to think about

After taking a second look at the "Now it's virtual game" I've kind of warmed up to it but there are some things I do not like about it either.

Nothing is perfect, but I wouldn't say it's the worse thing in the Sam and Max gaming series.

Some of my first thoughts were initially heavy, however I still do not like a couple of things.

Likes:

VR

Animation

Sam and Max being together

Sam and Max's Banter

That the jokes aren't frat boy edgy (very much appreciate that)

Re-Reconns (puts back) Sam and Max as more older persons. They were freelancing in the late 1980s. These guys are older adults like in their late 50s or early 60s.

Being in their gentrified neighborhood and seeing how the two old soles deal with it.

The voice acting.

Dislikes:

Even though Sam and Max are together, they don't seem as close until some other events in the game, especially on Sam's side.

Some of the jokes seem like the writers were restricted in parts. I could kind of hear it in the voice acting.

The carnival setting. It could of been laid out better, some parts seemed like rail shooters.

Please understand all in all these are my opinions and I look forward to see what Happy giant does in the future.

I actually support them and want them to do better. The humor is refreshing and well balanced, but I do wish as a fan that a few things are tweaked here and there, especially with the Sam and Max dynamic/relationship in the future games, unless it is what Steve wants?

I feel Now it's Virtual is a introduction for what the Sam and Max games might be with this company or going forward. So let's support Happy giant and give constructive feedback.

Holiday Sam and Max Story Requests

Hey guys! With me being busy with life and writing to get my writing life in order, I wanted to open something up since I’m slowly getting back into writing fanfiction again. So far, the Sam and Max fandom has been the most interactive fandom for me to write for due to the reblogs, kudos, and amazing content. I already got some trades I am working on. But for the holiday season, I wanted to see if I could do any holiday story requests. 

So here you could either reply, reblog, or send an ask to my blog and I can work on a one-shot based on anything Sam and Max. It could be of anything: the Telltale series, the VR game, the cartoon, one of my AUs, or anything else. Please note that it may take a while for me to complete the request and even though I am usually open with content, there are some things I cannot do. I will let you know if anything comes up.

After many weeks, I’m finally done with the first chapter of my Poker Night 3 series I created after my fan version of a PN3 cast. It took a while, but I’m happy with what I have so far.

Basically, instead of a Pandemic, this 2021 in the story is giant monsters rampaging and the fate of the city and world decided on a poker game. The next chapter may not be for a while, but I wanted to post it before the year is over.

Progress on Seven Deadly Vices Ch. 4

Progress is gradual for the fic. I finished and edited the first half of the fourth chapter which includes the Sybil part. Now I have the other original half involving Seine to figure out.
