I’m really tired of people not knowing the difference between just a translation and a localization and then bitching about how everything is a “mistranslation”.

Like no, it’s not. It’s just that they have to use the closest thing in the culture to the original for understanding purposes at minimum and at most, altering parts so they will be received by the different country. Such as

simply fitting into different styles of speech

exaggerations of personality/situations

or straight up censorship

And then there are those people who complain specifically about how American does it, how it not authentic and stuff, not realizing that is what everyone does.

Like does no one remember when everyone was talking about how Disney reanimated one of the news anchors for different countries in Zootopia? Inside out and how in Japan broccoli was change to green peppers because of the difference in kids tastes buds? Or in the case of censorship, ruby from Steven universe being called a male in country’s that are anti lgbtq?

It’s really annoying, especially when people develop an elitist mindset about it like with the sub vs dub fighters.

Just accept that Steve has the flaw of protecting his friends and followers over what is actually right. He looks better than this stupid argument you have that makes him side with hydra. Plus that makes him a better rounded character as well in the long run.

Everytime I see a Cap Stan say "Steve didn't know it was Bucky. Him and Nat only knew it was Hydra." I want to scream.

You are literally saying that Steve and Nat knew Hydra killed the Starks and chose not to tell Tony. If they didn't know it was the Winter Soldier, and therefore didn't know it was Bucky, then that means they were PROTECTING HYDRA!!!!

This is not the "Steve is a good guy" point you think it is. This makes Steve soooooo much worse.

I don’t know about them but I don’t support the hashtag because it’s likely that RDJ will have to come back for more and more stuff and last I knew he really wanted to do other projects.

Marvel: In Iron Man Tony gets kidnapped, captured and tortured. He thinks he's going to die and finds himself needing an arc reactor to survive. He gets betrayed by his father figure who wants to kill him and almost dies sacrificing himself.

Us: Tony deserves to be happy, I hope he will be soon?

Marvel: In Iron Man 2 Tony is dying because of his arc reactor and nobody sees that he is in trouble. And he gets attacked by Vanko.

Us: Ok but can Tony be happy with Pepper now?

Marvel: no, in Avengers, Tony loses Coulson, fights aliens, realizes the danger coming, is traumatized, and he sacrifices himself and almost dies again.

Us: Okay can you leave Tony alone and let him be happy now?

Marvel: Now in Iron Man 3, Tony has ptsd, nightmares, insomnia and anxiety attacks. The fear that the aliens will come back is constantly torturing him, he's afraid that he can't protect his loved ones. He almost loses Pepper but everything is fine and he removes his arc reactor.

Us: This is a good end. Can he live a peaceful life now?

Marvel: No, in Avengers 2 he has a vision of his biggesr fear, and sees all his friends die. He tries to protect everyone but no one listens to him, they criticize him, and blame him. And he thinks he will die again in Sokovia.

Us: But Tony doesn't deserve all this suffering! Can you let him build his farm for him and Pepper and live happily as he always wanted?

Marvel: no no. In Civil War for him it's pain pain and more pain. He is not with Pepper anymore. A mother comes to tell him that he is responsible for her son's death. He is betrayed and abandoned by everyone. He learns that his parents were killed and sees them die, he learns that his friend knew and lied to him. He is attacked, seriously injured and left alone in Siberia.

Us: Oh my god but why is he always the one who suffers the most?? he doesn't deserve this at all!!

Marvel: In Homecoming he helps Peter, he still has anxiety attacks and worries about him but everything ends well. He's back with Pepper and they're getting married.

Us: Oh... finally!

Marvel: Just kidding, in Infinity War he has to go into space and risk his life even though all he wants is kids and a quiet life with Pep. He has to face his biggest fear that has terrified him for 11 years, ane which finally becomes reality. And he loses Peter in his arms.

Us: We beg you, please, let him live with his family and be happy forever, after all he's been through..

Marvel: So, in Endgame first he'll spend weeks in space with no water, no food and no oxygen just waiting to die. Then he'll get a taste of what happiness is, he'll be married and have a child. But all this to die 5 years after, and losing everything. And that at the very moment when he bring Peter back and could finally be happy.

Marvel: Yeah, this ending is perfect. 5 years is enough, Tony's life is finished.

Us: .......

What do you think of Alba Flores playing Wanda Maximoff? Her father is of Romani roots but I dont know bout her being Jewish. Just curious

As I am not Romani nor Jewish I don’t believe I have any right to say or choose. (my family is believed to be mostly from Scandinavia so I am very white and I am a Christian)

But when looking for actress’s for rewrites, fanfic, and art I found her so in my opinion she would work especially for Wanda being in her late 20s but I would ask someone like @scarlet--wiccan as they actually have a say on this matter.

Literally the only thing this Proves is that she knows she’s guilty and doesn’t want to face the consequences of her actions. It doesn’t matter if she feels guilty or not (she doesn’t) what matters is she is held accountable for it. She basically enslaved and tortured an entire town to fulfill her fantasy and while yes she didn’t know at first once she did she didn’t stop. And when everyone she trapped came at her she tried to manipulate her way out by saying ‘you were happy like that.’ and when that didn’t work she strangled them.

Hero’s don’t do that,ANTI-HEROES DONT DO THAT! What she did is horrifying and she faced no repercussions and this woman is still trying to justify her character despite everything that Wanda did wrong by saying that “she feels guilty” but that’s not the point. And I for one don’t want kids and teens to look up to someone like her and think that all she did is ok, especially how she treated vision the one she supposedly loved but that’s for another day.

So she just.... Thinks this is a good thing?! I can't with this bullshit and her lame ass excuses. 🙄🤢
