Everyone give a big round of applause for Tater Tot, because she has finally gotten down tunnel fetch! For the longest time she was convinced that tunnels only worked one way and that she couldn't return through it lol - she wasn't afraid of it, just simply seemed confused by its continued existence after she used it once 馃檭
.
I finally blocked off all other areas with cones so she had to return through the tunnel and that made things click - now she is fetching through the tunnel consistently and I'm very proud of her!

New cage setup! I'm pretty happy with how it came out, although I think I'll be putting in a full pan in the top unit (leaving the grate cutout for access) to make it easier for my older girls to get around (well mainly Blueberry, since she isn't quite as good at jumping and climbing anymore and seems to prefer the solid bases). . Unfortunately that means I'll have to tear down 2/6 units to get the grate in (and the pan because its a custom length made to fill in the gap in an open horizontal DCN), but I shouldn't have to move stuff around too much so hopefully it'll be a quick fix (I can hope!)

My ultra aerodynamic rat Tofu combining her fetch from a drawer combo with her weave fetch combo - I'm really loving how consistent she is at both of these now, it means that we have loads of new fun combos in her future to look forward to!

A little bit of jumping basketball practice with Toast, Raisin, and Popcorn - I'd like to add a jump or two to their next vs basketball game but we (well mainly Toast :P) need to practice a bit more with the jumps first.

Found this old clip of Tater Tot when she was just learning to weave - I really love this clip because of the ending, I swear Tot is one of the most bug-eyed rats I've known!

One of the cutest things about having standard and dwarf rats living together is the insanely cute cuddle puddles - this clip here of Toast (full grown dwarf) and Blueberry (full grown standard) spooning really puts their sizes into perspective! I will never get over how cute they look all cuddled up together!
.
(This clip was taken during last years intros, hense some of my late girls being there. Unfortunately Olive and Donut were not accepting of Tater Tot, but she ended up bonding with my then new babies Raisin, Tofu, and Popcorn just a few weeks later, so everyone ended up happy!)
.
.
Now that all my girls live together I see them snuggle like this all the time and its so dang cute! 馃ズ

Raisin says if at first you don't succeed, try, try, again! Sure, you might face plant a few times...but you'll get there in the end! (I admire her grip on that ball lol, she seems to have decided that she will bring it to me no matter what!)

Popcorn and Toast playing some vs basketball! I'm really proud of Toast in particular for being able to hold her own - Popcorn can be very pushy with basketball so I wasn't sure how Toast would do given her initial struggle with it, but she rose to the challenge and got just as many hoops as Popcorn! Go Toast and Popcorn!

Blueberry is seriously the cutest little sleepy rat - also I admire her being able to sleep through all the other rats walking on her lol! (Also yes, that is Butter squeaking at the end - I have never had a more vocal rat when it comes to tell others not to step on her...I supposed being so small compared to everyone else gives her an incentive to be loud!)

Tofu working on some fetch and agility - she was NOT pleased with me adding to the weave part lol, she kept trying to take the ball back because I had the audacity not to reward her for skipping to the end 馃ぃ

Tater Tot going on her evening stroll lol - its so hard to get a good video of the rats using their wheels, they love them but every time I try to open the cage they hop off. .Anyways Tot is a great example of how awesome a good sized wheel can be for rats - even though Tot was pretty old when I introduced one and was quite chunky at the time, she still came around to them and now uses them daily! And that's even with 6 critter nation units of space to explore - even with the large cage I find my rats love their wheel time (although the younger girls of course keep a brisker pace on them lol - still, I give Tot props for her daily wheel time!)

Raisin combining fetch and agility! Training with Raisin feels like a mix of training with my late girls Olive and Bean - both girls were insanely agile and AMAZING at agility, and both also had really great focus and motivation. Raisin is a bit different in that she likes weaves much more (both Olive and Bean had to work weaves much more to be consistent at them), and she isn't as much of a natural at fetch (which Olive and Bean both excelled at) - but she's really built up that skill and I'm very proud to say that she's now done her first course combined with fetch!
