Turns out, having eighty percent of all shinobi lives in the combined Great Countries get wiped out over all of three days is actually a pretty destabilizing event. Unsurprisingly, there are some who aren’t too happy with the power balance that’s lasted nearly a hundred years, and want to take advantage of this.

Revolution, as they might call it, isn’t always the holy crusade they like to say it is.

It started with Shimo and Yu’s alliance.

It ended with Sunagakure’s fall.

[this fic is legiterally BONKERS…like team 7 just fucks everyone’s shit up in the most enjoyable way tho the fic itself is kinda depressing BUT it does feature a great team 7 dynamic, sakura and sasuke are bros, violence, and a lil bit of shikasaku (one of my lowkey sakura ships) it’s actually part 3 of an installment and a prequel to the first two fics, but i read this one first oops]

[My all time favorite Naruto fanfic. Funny and filled with incredible world building. This is what canon Naruto wishes it was]

Expedient by SwiftKick - Konoha and Iwa sign a truce and agree to an Exchange Program between recently promoted genin to “bolster village relations.” Fortunately, if anything were to go wrong, Haruno Sakura was just average enough to risk losing. [This one really plays with the idea of Sakura as a Redshirt and what that would do to your psyche. There’s some Deidara/Sakura, but it’s mostly focused on her growth.]

Who are some of your favorite Naruto fic writers (with good grammar, for the love of God)? I'm looking for more reading material.

We-ell. Like, not to put too fine a point on it, but if you want good grammar, you should probably ask someone with good grammar.

But since you’re asking me and not somebody with better grammar, I assume that you're​ holding writers to a fairly low standard. This would be a standard of, say, understanding where apostrophes usually go, as opposed to a standard of, for example, never ending a sentence with a preposition and only ever using “who” to refer to the subject.

There are writers listed here who have never used “whom”, so I guess YMMV on the grammar thing. At any rate, moving on.

Being asked for writers rather than fics is a good thing, in a way, because it lets me say “these writers are good” rather than having to elect specific fics. So, okay, I’m starting with a few writers you’ve probably forgotten about (or if you’re quite young, maybe never knew):

“Yo, Sakura-chan. How’s it going?” he teased, his voice sounded half asleep and a little deeper than normal.

ANBU Captain Uchiha Itachi had things well planned out, until a medic-nin with ridiculous hair went and made herself interesting. Sakura insisted she was just doing her job, but Itachi didn’t quite see it that way. Non-massacre.

Konoha’s citizens are being controlled by a virus, and it falls on Sakura’s shoulders to save them. AU KakaSaku set in Edo-period Japan. Sakura is the descendant of a red-haired foreigner as well as a merchant’s daughter. Kakashi is a local samurai who has fallen on hard times, a man whose pride has been broken down to this point. Love comes after.

This would have almost been hilarious, the renowned copy ANBU almost petrified of a small unarmed girl, had it not been happening to him. The price of this tiny bride was going to break him. Hello, fiery flames of eternal doom.

-> Heart Under a Blade ; M - Ongoing 

Sitting on a bench after being told by Sasuke-kun that she’s annoying, Sakura thinks that it’s the worst day of her life. Lying in the hospital wanting to hurl from heat suppressants later that day and grappling with the revelation that she’s an omega, Sakura knows that it’s the worst day of her life. (ABO, extremely slow build)
