now it’s none of my business whether people are in a relationship or not but you have to admit the idea of these two being engaged is fucking hilarious
it must be so insane to have their entire relationship (friends and more) documented over the years where they can always look back, not to mention millions of people doing this with them and speculating it for years
it feels surreal even now and also a little bit weird that people (including me) are so into this and was waiting for this intently I don’t exactly know what kind of parasocial thing this falls into honestly
but considering everything, I really do hope they are happy because they fill people’s lives with joy and love and at the end that’s all there is to it I think
“I love the idea of what Crowley's idea of Aziraphale is. His idea is a lot more heroic and standing-up to everybody than Aziraphale's idea of Aziraphale.”
“Just as Aziraphale's idea of Crowley is somebody who can be flippant and insouciant when faced with the monsters of Hell”.
“They're probably each rather better at dealing with things than the other one is, but that's what they think the other one is probably like, and I love that”.
“And I would like to spend hmmmmmnnn” was literally the line delivery heard around the world. Even David Tennant’s sworn enemies, the Bafta voters, were like….ok girl
David Tennant: There are certain obstacles in playing Crowley. Obviously I'm wearing contact lenses most of the time. But, you know, that's a small price to pay for a character that is... is so delicious, really. And gets to wear these ludicrous outfits, that I would never dare to wear in real life, but clearly part of me would quite like to, I think. (video)
does not look like an angel with no plan and no ulterior motive.
And, I think Crowley knows that. And Aziraphale knows he knows. Because they’ve known each other for aeons. Because Crowley knows his different tones of voice. Because they trust each other.
This is the face of a determined angel. And this is the face of a demon who’s still there with him.
He’s not happy about it, but he’s still there.
If he’d given up on them (on Us), he would’ve left. It’s what he’s always done before: Crowley’s been the one to turn & leave. He wouldn’t have watched Aziraphale leave if he didn’t still believe in him, in their history & their trust. He stayed.
