A (not so) quick GO reflection that has me in shambles.

The fact that Azi is terrified about becoming a fallen angel when he does something that's typically considered a "sin" (aka lying, disobeying, indulging in gluttony and other mundane pleasures), but he's never actually reprimanded for that by those Above.

And he shouldn't be so worried, cause Heaven doesn't really give a fuck about the occasional lying and eating and drinking as long as he doesn't commit the gravest sin of them all, the one that's not directly warned against: being too curious. Crowley never lied, disobeyed or indulged in anything when he was cast out of Heaven... He was exiled for asking too many questions. For being curious and thinking for himself. For giving suggestions.

But now that Azi will be taking Gabriel's place, he'll try to do just that. He'll want to know stuff, change stuff, know how those plans work and what he can do to make them better. He'll be curious. He'll try to give suggestions to Metatron or worse, he'll actually be naive enough to believe that he's something more than a mere puppet for Metatron to use for that Second Coming shit of his. Azi said it himself to Crowley: "If I'm in charge, I can make a difference".

And he'll try, and he'll fail, and then he'll finally understand why Crowley fell. Now, with this fake "leadership position" he's been given, Aziraphel is in actual danger of falling, but he can't see it. And when he tries to do things his own way and he's punished for his "unruly behaviour", he'll finally see the truth. And his pure heart will break for Crowley, for Humanity, and for himself.
