I believe it is important to address the other side of studyblr; we all talk about how important mental health is, and should be, in this community. But what we don’t talk about enough is the fact that it’s more clique than anything. By which I mean that certain studyblrs are so big they can seem unreachable; and that can be factored into another issue, the desire to have enough likes and reblogs; we have to have the perfect notes, or there won’t be any other type of notes, if you catch my drift. It’s stigmatic, it’s unfair; some small blogs rely on reblogs from bigger blogs, some rely on posting consistently (or constantly), but the fact remains.
We must change the aesthetic, once and for all, to include the smaller blogs, the dark blogs, the ones that aren’t as actively; it’s a community, not a clique of who has the most stationary or the most followers. Those who have the certain notes that are so admired are wonderful; but not all of us have that time to put into it, and we work just as hard at our academics, at becoming the person we would like to be, as they do.
Studyblr community, love yourselves, even if you don’t have the notes; or the followers. There’s no use beating yourself up about it. We can’t all be big, but what we can do is be proud of our own accomplishments and how we strive towards our own goals. Who cares if your notes don’t get that many reblogs? You made it, and you worked hard on it, and that should be enough.
I wanted to share this one here too because I know I have a somewhat following and I think it’s important to know where this challenge comes from... Please help us get our voice heard
I feel like a lot of people do not know how much wheelchairs cost so
one that is actually designed to be used independently, rigid frame, without any fancy electronics, is a lot of money.
how much do you think the wheelchair shown below is worth?
this is $1,600. this costs one thousand six hundred dollars with no customization, on SALE. this is a SALE price. this is one of the cheapest rigid wheelchairs I could find from a reputable seller. different models cost thousands more and even basic customization can tack on a ton of money.
Not only is having worldbuilding threads that are mentioned once and never picked up again not a flaw in fantasy media, I'd go so far as to say that a lack of such threads is a flaw. If everything ties up in one neat little package, you're missing the point of fantasy worldbuilding. Like, don't do it on every page, or your setting is going to be an overstuffed mess, but every so often you are not only allowed but obligated to casually drop some utterly batshit worldbuilding detail and then just never follow up on it. Maybe some rocks are sentient. You don't owe your reader an explanation. Just fucking go for it.
The last month has been very stressful. I didn't realise the kind of relationship I was in until someone pointed it out to me. It's been two weeks and I'm finally healing up again, willing to look at my books and begin studying what makes me happy.
It's really important that you realise how awesome you are, despite any mistakes you might have made. You should never "settle" for something. This is only my third time learning this... 🤫
For now, I'm going to take a break from Polish. I love the language but after the stressful situation, I can't look at it. Hopefully soon I can return to it and see its beauty again.
In other news, I'm happy to say that I'm back in the land of snow and maple syrup. Yesterday was my last day of quarantine!
I needed a bit of a break. I studied and tried my best to enjoy the beautiful icey weather outside. It really is gorgeous! Just look at those sexy crystals.
My head's either too busy or too quiet. Either way, I think it's going to get better.
