I have some questions about skam seasons and I wanna hear what you think.

skam nl and Skam Austin both have 2 seasons, but why?

idk about nl but I heard Austin got cancelled which is.. such a shame, considering it was the only remake with wlw Isak who's also a woc... and I don't even know if there's possibility for them to change their mind because Shay's actor came out as trans and he fully transitioned so he couldn't possibly play her and they should recast, which I'm not sure they want to do.

also druck has next gen seasons, and do you happen to know if they will do another after Ismail's one? like one from Kieu My or Ava or literally any of the other pov? it would be great imo.

Skam Italia is getting renewed apparently, the season will come out in 2022, and I'm really curious about what they'll do, even if I think the only option is doing something og like skam fr and Druck did, since the four mains already had their seasons.

btw is it only me or people never talk about skamfr og seasons unless it's about Lola / Lola and Maya? ofc it could be the part of the fandom I'm in, but I just wanted to hear your opinion on this, you're on my fav skam pages ever and the fact that you stan both Fatou and Shay AND are anti noorhelm >>>>

skamnl and skam austin both got canceled after season 2 :( i guess their viewership was too low. and yeah shay's actor transitioned which is wonderful for them but tru that it means they couldn't play a cis lesbian, so its for the best that they dont have to even though i miss skam austin so bad... the other day i remembered that scene where eve is having sex with some girl and shes wearing sneakers but no pants.... what was that about. i miss it tho

also i dont know if they are doing more druck seasons tho im sure someone knows but im not that current w druck news. they should do an ava season though i love her

idc about it*lia thus i have no idea what they are doing at any time. also as someone who was around when season 3 of skamfr was airing: elu was SOOOOOO huge and im sure the elu fandom is still at large but i remember when 95% of skamfr talk was about elu bc skamfr isnt that hugely popular w the international fandom but elu was honestly a huge deal (and for good reason imo they were good) so if you're mostly seeing lola/maya talk im sure you are just in the wlw fandom (as you should be)

would you mind clarifying how skam works? I'm kind of new.

from what I know there was a og skam and 6 remakes, and each one of them has a version of Eva, Noora, Isak and Sana.

but also I heard skam france has 6 seasons, shouldn't they be 4? and apparently druck has a new gen, and I didn't understand much tbh.

now, I don't know if this is a reliable source because I saw those gif packs who are like "the Nooras" "the sanas" etc but

- apparently Shay (skam Austin Isak) didn't get a season and therefore an even and from what I know (but I could be wrong) Lucas from Skam nl is also single.

-skam nl and Austin don't have a Magnus? don't get me wrong, even better so every female character isn't paired and so we aren't full of male love interests, but why?

-am I wrong or does druck lack a Jonas?

okay sorry that was a lot, I really hope it wasn't confusing and it wasn't too much.

hiii so a bunch of countries (netherlands, belgium, germany, france, italy, usa, spain) bought rights to adapt skam and i know the contracts had specific rules about what they can and can't change though i don't know specifics. in theory every character is adapted but the important characters (the girl squad, isak, jonas, w*lliam, pchris, eskild, even, ingrid) all have direct equivalents and some minor characters (magnus, mahdi, sonja) don't, but certain remakes took certain liberties and others stuck to the original more closely.

original skam only had 4 seasons so skam france & druck (which both went beyond the 4 seasons) went into original characters (from what i understand, the vildes evens and jonases weren't allowed to have their own seasons which is why skamfr did a season about lola who was the vilde character's sister instead of doing a vilde (daphne) season). but like any season beyond 4 has to be totally original, thus druck and skamfr doing "nextgen" type of stuff instead of doing like a vilde season or whatever. also druck has a jonas and his name is also jonas. and as for skamnl and austin not having a magnus: tbh magnus was introduced in season 3 and neither of them got season 3s so there's not really a magnus or mahdi but that's not to say that there wouldn't have been. but yeah coming to skam late must be a bit confusing lol

Is it possible to watch Druck season 6 without watching season 5? I was super hyped when I found out Druck had a wlw lead and I don't want to watch season 5 first

hi! i'd say it's definitely possible, personally i would recommend watching season 5 because it gives you an introduction to the important characters (& it's also just very good) and some background about fatou & kieu my but it's definitely not necessary if you'd prefer to go straight into season 6 :)

That dick line made no sense with Even's character 💀💀 isn't he pansexual (or did Julie only label him as that for woke points)? so what if she DID have a dick? There's no logical explaination to why would he find it funny or shameful. Not to mention Isak has a dick as well. Does Julie not know her own character or did she not do any research on what it means to be pansexual?

it was gross to have even say that but not bc hes pansexual (any sexuality can be transphobic) but bc it positions women with dicks as weird/wrong

only thing i can think of: when even lied to isak about sonja having an aluminum leg and isak was like wtf why would you lie about that and even was like "it could be worse, i could have said she had a dick"

it had so much potential! iman is such a good actress they could have had an actually compelling season but instead we got garbage that fakes being “woke” ngl eskild is probably the best man on that entire show. or at least the only man with a brain cell. im kinda surprised with how big the show got like it started as a little google drive show we all shared with eachother and then it became this huge thing with a billion remakes. it’s wild.

season 4 was god awful trash! sana deserved way better!! they like barely even focused on sana THE MAIN. she shoved noorhell down our throats. isak literally was like “being gay is harder than being a hijabi woc” (also he and even looked like twins the entire time it was ✨uncomfy✨). and you right eskild was great out of spite i will always love him for that. he was the captain of the fuck off willhelm train.

also sorry for basically ranting about skam i got an exam today in an hour and im trying to take my mind off of it

no genuinely season 4 was so bad which is really sad bc it could have been so good :( sana is so loveable but they treated her so bad wtf. also yeah eskild’s actor (to my understanding) had a big role in shaping eskild into who he ended up being rather than julie. also he’s such a king for hating w*lliam <3 he has taste <3 noorh*lm still makes me so upset
