1. Not Friends.

Cold water dripped down onto your forehead, a thin tear in the canvas above flapping as it let in the sharp wind and rain. There was an overall stench of sweat and mould that only grew stronger as you stepped into the ring, and that dark patch on the side of the wooden stage that Swordsman assured you was “definitely not blood”.

For a moment, you considered ducking away and running back to your old life. However, as you thought about the mess you’d left behind, you realised that was not an option. You were already getting used to the smell. This time next week you’d be nose blind. It would all be fine. Or so you hoped.

I’ve launched my brand-new Patreon!

As you might remember: I’m offering all my new patrons 4 short stories in addition to the tier rewards (no matter the tier you pledge to!). These stories are the RO introduction scenes but from the point of view of every RO (excluding Quinn). Because Patreon charges patrons on the 1st of every month in addition to the first pledge, no matter what time of the month you pledged, it means you would be paying again in a week. That’s why the 4 stories would be available for every patron as an extra goodie.

There are two other short stories available for the upper tiers (POV shifting short story and a background short story). The POV story is a snippet of someone’s journey who followed the MC from up North (ok it’s Quinn). The background story includes Marcus and Antonia.

He tends to only rely on himself - as he believes that 'If it's gonna be done right, do it yourself.' Works as a Public Relations Manager for Parker Medical.

Jamie Wan (They/them) - A 5'7 Malaysian with a very slim build. They have dark eyes and short black hair that they keep brushed in no particular style. Extremely outgoing and playful, but tends to be overly critical of themselves and over-reliant on others. They've been your partner-in-crime (literally) for well over two decades. They're two years younger than you.

Jared Issawi (He/him, 31y/o) - A 6'3 Arab-Canadian man that could be described as a gentle giant. Has dark brown eyes, salt-and-pepper hair, a dad-bod, and a beard that he keeps trimmed. You will seldom see him without a smile on his face. Former Parker Medical Technical Specialist.

Taylor Parker (She/her, 29y/o) - A 5'3 slim Caucasian woman. Has green eyes and long blonde hair that she usually keeps in a messy bun. She's well-put-together and quick-witted but hates letting emotions show. Current CFO for Parker Medical, she's set to inherit the company from her parents within the next ten years.

Sofía Pérez (She/her, 37y/o) - She's a curvy 6'1 Spaniard. She has light brown eyes and long brown hair that she keeps dyed black. She's sharp, excitable, fiery, and will flirt with anyone that has a pulse. (Try not to take it too seriously) Always has a sarcastic comment ready. Currently works as the Second-in-Command for Parker Medical's security team.

Whelp this is about the cutest thing that I’ve read today.

if alina and aleks had a shadow summoner kid i can totally imagine said kid using it as a way to cheat in games of hide and seek. like hiding under beds or in wardrobes and making the shadows in there even darker so that even when someone does look in they still can't be seen. And then if they also had a kid with sun summoning power they'd use it against that cheat, so if it was a whole family game they'd come in with a little ball of sunlight in their hands like "hold on, let me double check!" and then the shadow-kid would get caught,

Shadow-kid: that's not fair!

Sun-kid: you're the one who cheated!

and i'm sure Alina would quietly be telling Aleks off for teaching them to use their power to cheat cause it starts these fights. 😅
