Also, something rubs me the wrong way about people saying Angel Dust shouldn’t be in a relationship because he’s an abuse victim… just because of the implication that abuse victims shouldn’t be in relationships.
Do I think Huskerdust needs to happen immediately in season 2? No! Do I agree that Angel Dust needs to heal a little bit, and process his trauma and the way in which it has messed up his perception of love before getting into a relationship? However, saying that Huskerdust should never become canon because of Angel’s trauma just doesn’t sit right with me.
And I understand that trauma affects people in different ways, and part of some people’s healing IS not being in a relationship l, and I do think that is valid… however, again, saying this is the way Angel Dust MUST heal from his trauma also is kind of harmful.
"angel shouldn't be in a relationship with husk, he needs friends! he is an abuse survivor and spent his whole life thinking he is just a body, he needs platonic relationships to heal"
first of all, cherri is right there. are we watching the same show?
Tumblr media
maybe she doesn't have the best coping methods (and hey, that's actually a thing, it's a character flaw that can be worked on in the future!), but she doesn't do it with the intention of making him worse, she genuinely thinks this is a good thing and will be good for him.
she's addicted like angel, after all. but it doesn't mean she doesn't care about him, she does it because she cares and like i said, she thinks it's the right thing to do and will be good for him. and she respects angel being in the hotel
and he has other friends too, he has charlie, vaggie, niffty and pentious
and survivors can heal while in a romantic relationship. it's a very problematic mentality to think that we survivors can't be in a relationship. like what? can't we get better? heal, move on, fall in love?
and huskerdust aren't even a couple yet, viv confirmed that it's a slowburn
and for angel, having someone who likes him not just for his body is a good thing! this also helps him heal

The most unrealistic thing about Bridgerton is that Penelope is the “unattractive one?” Have you SEEN Nicola Coughlan?!

I thought we left this whole “reblog if you aren’t a horrible person” posts (then threatening to unfollow anyone who doesn’t reblog)… back in 2012?

Not to mention, it’s pretty clear that Husk knows Angel likes to fight his own battles and he respects this. We see this in the episode where they go to the bar, and Angel was standing up to Val.
Both he and Cherri were ready to intervene if needed, but they didn’t. When Angel Dust wanted to go home, they went home, and that was that.
There’s this consistent trend I see in Hazbin fan content where it’s popular to portray Angel as beautiful, dainty, needy, and wanting to be saved. Meanwhile Husk is essentially the tall and forceful knight in shinning armor, whisking Angel off his feet and always being there to rescue him.
I’m not saying this is always bad- it’s cute! It’s fun, but because it is such a common trope within this fandom, I feel compelled to ask if that’s what we think of Husk and Angel.
Do we think of Angel as a damsel in distress? The eight foot tall mobster spider? The “I can handle myself, baby,” guy? The one who grew closer to Husk through a combination of respect and blood?
Angel needs help, but he does NOT want to be rescued. His femininity being used as a reason to pity him and see him as weak is exactly what he would hate and borders on a disturbing view of femme presentation as a whole.
Husk, on the other hand, is 1. Not tall 2. Not a knight in shining armor 3. Not always going to be the one doing the saving.
Literally gets saved in episode four by Angel before they end up fighting back together! They’re good for one another, they’re friends, they’re partners.
They’re losers on equal footing in this point in their life. Whittling them down to the expected stereotyped of masculine and feminine personally rubs me the wrong way, especially since I feel Hazbin Hotel excels at going against those exact types of expectations.
Obviously continue to have fun and make the content you want to see, I’m some dickhead online, i wrote this out as a way to vent from the feelings surrounding all of this. See yah.

I’ll make an exception…
People who make liking musicals their entire personalities will never be more annoying than people who make hating musicals their entire personality.
Because people who make musicals their entire personality are just finding enjoyment in things they love, even if they’re just a little cringe about it.
But some of y’all will see anything that is a musical or musical related, and will just bitch and complain about not liking musicals. Like… nobody is forcing you to consume musicals?

Like it or hate it, THIS IS BAD
Don’t think they’re gonna stop at TikTok with this ban. The language of the bill will allow the government to ban literally any social media platform they deem a “threat to national security”.
This bill is a direct infringement of the 1st Amendment, and y’all will think it’s fine cause you think TikTok is cringy. Banning TikTok is only the beginning for these ghouls. Call your senators for fuck sake.

NSFW WARNING, Minors do not interact with this post.
“I have a headcanon Angel Dust may be a power bottom but he sometimes likes to be in charge-“
That is what a power bottom is. A bottom that likes to be in charge. A dominant bottom.

My favorite detail of Hazbin Hotel is that typically angels have lighter colors, like pink, and light blue and demons typically have darker colors, and usually there’s SOMETHING red or black in their designs.
Well, Angel Dust’s pallet is the closest to those in Heaven, as he is pink and white and those colors make up more of his design than the black and the red. But the angel that we’re assuming is Molly, is one of the few angels wearing darker colors. She is wearing a light red.

Now, could this symbolize their connection? I don’t know. Is there a reason for this? Probably not. But I thought it was interesting.

“I can excuse porn and drug abuse, but I draw the line at an age gap between two consenting adults”
Hi Hazbins :3
I recently started watching Hazbin Hotel, I haven’t finished it 😊, but I… have something to say :3
I was scrolling tik tok, as I do, and I saw someone say they didn’t like Huskerdust, which obviously is fine, we’re allowed our opinions 😗 But I went to the comments and they said ‘I can accept that it’s canon, but that doesn’t change that it’s objectively a pro ship 😕’… What? ._. A ship between 2 consenting grown men is a pro ship? 😶 That’s not- no .-. Just because a ship… has an age gap doesn’t mean it’s a pro ship 😶 if Angel was like, barely legal, sure. But Anthony died in his 30s. It’s not like he just graduated high school .-.
Someone said ‘He’s an addict he can’t consent’ but the thing is, Husk BLATANTLY wasn’t interested in Angel until AFTER he really started to work on himself and be his real self. Angel threw himself at Husk like every episode up to 4, where the ship ACTUALLY started IMO, and Husk said ‘I ain’t interested pretty boy 😒’ in episode 4, the episode where Angel decides he’s ready to work on himself for real, THEN Husk starts seeing Angel in a different light. Husk never like… took advantage of Angel being high, that’s why- that’s the point of the ship .-. That Husk respects Angel ._. Feel like people are confusing a cat for a moth with that 😊
Pro shippers are gross. Pro shippers are like… the worst of the worst pedos, animal… ‘lovers’ .-. Calling someone a pro shipper because they ship Huskerdust, 2 grown adults, is stupid 😶

I’d love to see a flashback of how Angel Dust ended up at the hotel, because it’s alluded to that he didn’t even really believe in his own redemption. He really was only there because it was free and he didn’t have to live with his abuser anymore.
But Charlie and Angel Dust had to meet at some point, and there wasn’t much advertisement for the hotel until after Angel was already there. This means, Charlie had to see something in Angel Dust to make him her first resident, the first person she attempted to redeem.
And I think that’s beautiful.

I swear people will learn terminology off the internet and apply it without actually learning what it means.

Also, I definitely do think Vox and Velvette are just as bad as Valentino, this is just to add an explanation as to why so many people find Vox and Velvette somewhat likable, and not Valentino.
I think the reason people are more willing to see Valentino for the villain he is, and yet still praise and love the other Vees, despite them being not only complicit in Valentino’s behavior, but are shown to be just as bad… is perspective.
We get to see both Velvette and Vox from their own perspectives, they each get their own songs (well, duets, technically), where we see their perspectives, we get to see them be silly and goofy, but not with Valentino. We don’t get to see their victims in the same way we see Angel Dust.
We purely see Valentino from the perspective of other characters. The one song we get about him is sung by his victim, about how Val has traumatized him. We don’t get to see him in a silly or goofy light, every time we see him, he is being cruel to Angel Dust, or threatening Angel Dust’s friends.
Basically, because Velvette and Vox are shown to be silly and funny, people are under the impression that they are not as bad as Valentino, even though they are shown to be abusive towards their “employees” as well.

Another thing I enjoy about Hazbin Hotel, is that Angel Dust is never shamed for his feminine features, nor is it made to be that big of a deal at all. He is allowed to wear pink, he is allowed to look feminine, without it becoming a big deal. It’s just… how Angel dresses.
