It's been 24 hrs so is it safe for me to say I was taken out by the fact that Buck told Eddie he was on a date with Tommy and Eddie's first reaction was:

David Tennants line delivery of 'You idiot' right before he kisses Aziraphale should be STUDIED.
How did he manage to pack that much emotion into two words?
Despair, anger, heartbreak...
And there's almost an empty fondness in there too. He knows Aziraphale. He knew from the second Aziraphale told him about Metatron's offer, exactly how this was going to go.
But he tried anyway. And you can see the panic and sadness in him as he asks Aziraphale to choose them. Choose US.
Because he already knows it won't work.
But Crowley was an optimist. And he had to try. He wanted to believe he could be enough.

Guys I know we all want Buddie but consider...
We have just under 2 guaranteed seasons for them to slowburn this shit in such an excruciatingly good way that I am LOSING IT.
Let them spin the story, I think if we get them in a relationship right away it wouldn't feel earned and might not ring true for Eddie just yet. He's in a relationship, happy and Buck is his best friend. A lot needs to happen in order for them to get to the point they can date or even realise their feelings for each other.
I just don't want them to rush this at the expense of the character development or the story feeling coherent. I reckon if they tried to get together now? With Buck newly figuring himself out and Eddie with potentially no idea he has the capacity to love a man?
It would be DISASTROUS.
I'm braced and sat fam. Slowburn me. Let's go.

Bi-Buck is still making my head spin because the POSSIBILITIES, BRO. The RAMIFICATIONS, FAM.
Will Buck realise he has feelings for Eddie first or will Eddie blindside him? Do either of them know consciously?
Has there been a betting pool on Evan being into dudes and if so, who won?
Is Hen gonna be like 'mmhmmm so?' cause she's known for ages?
Is Eddie bi also or gay and just never questioned it because he was married so young?
Will Maddie be able to resist the urge to yell 'OF COURSE I KNEW!'
Will we get a season long slowburn of them basically being married and living together without realising it?
Will Eddie know he has feelings right away but say nothing cause he doesn't wanna get in the way of Bucks first relationship?
And if Eddie and Buck do get together will they keep it a secret from the team so they avoid scrutiny?
Will Eddie not be comfortable being out? Will his Tia and family accept it?
Will Bobby split them up because you can't be in a relationship and also work together?
Will Chris be okay with it? Will Eddie hesitate to say anything to Buck because if it ends badly he could lose his best friend and Chris could lose a father figure?
Will Eddie get a chance to end his relationship with Marisol before he and Buck get their shit together?
WHAT HAPPENS NOW? AAAAARGHHH!

I wish I could find it but I read an article/essay about this exact thing.
It talked about the prevalence of fandom in marginalised spaces and how communities form around stories as a means of finding connection.
Badly summing it up, fans of a thing can be split into two groups: Appreciative fans and Transformative fans.
Men, straight people, white and cisgendered people etc. historically have been who media is frequently targeted towards and were always the viewer that networks/publishers have in mind. Mainstream viewers can see themselves represented and create Appreciative Fandom spaces.
Basically "I like this thing. It speaks directly to me. You like it too? Let's discuss what we like about it. Let's buy merch about it to connect with people who also like it. Let's compare it to other wwo"
Whereas women, POC, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities... People who feel they exist on the fringes and that the media itself is not exclusively made for, create Transformative fandom spaces:
"I don't see myself in this narrative, but I want to! I can connect with parts of it, I just wish it reflected my experience or spoke more directly to me. And there are others like me who can also see a sliver of something amazing in this art and we've built community around it. Let's use this universe and characters and re-write how it could be. I'm going to paint this or draw what this could be if this peice of media fulfilled it's potential. I'm going to create what I want to see because it doesn't give me what I need."
(I think Tumblr still exists because of Transformative fandom)
All this to say that I think a media either has to be good enough to speak to an audience in a way that feels genuine to them, or have amazing characters and settings and then ultimately cock-up the execution so thoroughly that the audience takes matters into their own hands.
stating to think there’s an inverse correlation between how good media is and how easily fandomizable it is 😁
