I can't explain how joyous it feels to know how to cook, and have someone to cook for. My food isn't the greatest, I don't know too many receipts, I don't know how to properly use a knife, and I would be classified as unskilled by most chefs- but hey, at least my sister likes the spaghetti I made for diner. It was that simple. Cut the tomato, cut the onion, fry them all in a pan, add hot water, little bit of salt, and chopped garlic - that's our sauce. The spaghetti was on point (for our liking). We ate and it felt so warm.
i originally started this just a few days before janice burgess passed away. if you have been following me for a while, you'd know that the backyardigans is still one of my all time favorite shows to this day: a major brainworm ive had since i was first popped out the womb.
she had such a huge hand in me and my siblings childhoods outside of backyardigans, as well, and i cant understate how much it means to me to see a black woman have such a major role in various popular animated franchises.
RIP to one of my greatest animation inspos, ESPECIALLY when it comes to children's entertainment. the fact that mrs. burgess passed on the day before my birthday hurts especially, so i dedicate this drawing to her! i would not be who i am w/o these goobers, so thank you
Hey, amidst the chaos of... everything on the internet, pay attention to Hawaii/Hawai'i!
There have been plans from a non Hawaiian organisation to build a 5 acre parking lot, 13 lot subdivision and a comfort station for tourists on the ridge of the sacred Pololū Valley!
This project doesn't acknowledge Pololū Valley as a wahi pāna (a celebrated and storied place in the cultural traditions of Hawaii/Hawai'i) and instead treats it as just plain land that can be sold to a highest bidder.
Pololū Valley is anything but that.
So please sign the petition to stop this project! As of writing this, 883,470 people have, but we need more!
Petition to protect Pololū Valley
Reblog to reach more people, please! Don't just like and move on, sign the petition and make sure more people see this!
