TUA Harry Potter AU

So here’s my take on this (not that y’all care), just because I love these babes and want somewhere to put my ideas on them out there? Reginald would definitely have been either a muggle (who somehow knows about the magical world), a squib, or a high-ranking Wizengamot member who collected magical infants in order to train them to stop the prophecy of the apocalypse (as predicted by Five, a seer) from occurring. It’s funny how easy it was to draw parallels between the two!

Information is below the cut, because the length of it got a little bit out of hand. I ended up placing three of the UA kids into Slytherin and one of them into each of the other houses, alongside having some side characters in the other houses.

REGINALD: The asshole father of seven dysfunctional wizards and witches. Brought them back together through his death.

POGO: Instead of a chimpanzee, he’d be a house elf. While Reginald would treat him poorly, the kids grew up being kind to him, although Luther, being a daddy’s boy, wouldn’t necessarily have treated him as a sentient being. Vanya got along with him the most, having been placed in a similarly low position in the household’s hierarchy, while Klaus would also be close to him, just being a person to buck society’s standards.

GRACE: A transfigured doll, or something similarly nonhuman and magical. She grew up raising the seven of them, and eventually just went and developed a personality of her own. Can (to a limited extent) use magic, although mostly uses it just to cook for the kids and do first aid on them.

LUTHER: He’d be the kind of person to desperately want Gryffindor, then turn around and be sorted into Slytherin and he like? Cannot function? He’s grown up thinking of Slytherin as the ‘evil’ house and has a crisis of conscience afterwards, although he’s happy he and Allison are together in the same house. I’d say Slytherin instead of Gryffindor simply because he’s the most go-getting out of all of them, besides Five, of course. He’s the most dedicated one, and he’s ambitious to the point of holding onto his control of the team with an iron fist. He’d be the top student in Astronomy, and be the only student in the class to get a hundred percent on his OWL test. Was cajoled into joining the Quidditch team, playing as either a beater or a keeper. He would definitely be the Slytherin Head Boy.

DIEGO: Absolute baby. The brave and reckless fucker that he is, gets placed into Gryffindor (much to the jealousy of Luther) and quickly becomes known as a terror to his teachers. Believing strongly in vigilante justice, he hexes and jinxes school bullies, much to the ire of Eudora Patch, who is simultaneously his best friend and worst enemy. His (unlicensed) animagus would be a literal lion, and you can’t tell me otherwise. He’d be Head Boy if he only followed the rules, but instead, he’s constantly getting detention, dungeon time, and docked points because of his righteousness and strong sense of justice. Would try to be an auror, fail the tests, then immediately turn around and become a freelance detective. Cares very deeply about his friends with a strong sense of loyalty, and the Sorting Hat took what felt like decades to choose between sorting him into Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.

ALLISON: Slytherin, although it doesn’t matter to her as much as it did Luther. She’s ambitious and brave, willing to follow her dreams and do whatever it takes to succeed. ‘Failure’ isn’t a word to her. The most popular girl in school, she’s half Veela, having all the beauty and charm that comes with it. She would definitely be Head Girl by her seventh year, alongside Luther. A teacher’s pet, her professors love her. Would definitely be some sort of celebrity in both the wizarding world and the muggle world, rather than having a magical profession. Would be the best at Potions, although she’s still one of the top students at Hogwarts. When she’s older, she used a love potion to make Patrick (who was a muggle actor) fall in love with her, resulting in them getting married and having Claire, and when he discovered her using magic on their daughter, he demanded they get a divorce, taking her with him to Los Angeles in California.

KLAUS: Saw someone’s death when he was younger, resulting an ability to see Thestrals and more ghosts than normal, even being able to physically touch them. He has a special connection with death, and can’t really die. As loyal as he is to his family, he was placed into Hufflepuff, not really belonging elsewhere, although he shares creativity and intelligence with Ravenclaw. A stoner and drug addict, he uses the drugs to suppress his ability to see the dead. Kidnapped and tortured by Hazel and Cha Cha, when he escaped, he stole their time turner and travelled back to the first wizarding war, falling in love with David Katz, a muggleborn wizard in Hufflepuff, and maybe or maybe not taking him back to the present when he was finished. Would probably be good at Herbology just for the aesthetic, and because of his knowledge about drugs. The school dress codes basically don’t apply to him, and his pansexual ass somehow works his way around the imposed student chastity and split gendered dorms as well. Stops the moon with magic.

FIVE: He always has to insist that he really was named ‘Five’ at birth, because nobody believes him. Was born with an affinity for apparation, being able to apparate with a high degree of success sans wand, and was born a seer. As a preteen, made a prophecy about the apocalypse, and is determined to stop it from happening. Accidentally used a time turner and travelled to after the apocalypse, living alone and falling in love with a mannequin in a muggle department store who he named Delores, but when he tried traveling through time without a time turner, ended up back in his preteen body. Slytherin, due to how ambitious he is.

BEN: Not dead, simply because Ben dying is officially cancelled for this AU. Ravenclaw, both because Justin Min said so and because Ben definitely loved reading as a kid. Would’ve consumed absolutely every book he could lay his little fingers on. Would’ve accidentally (or maybe not? Reginald might’ve been experimenting) become an Obscurus, but have mastered it by the time he was getting his letter to Hogwarts, to the extent that it was just another part of him. Every one of his classes would be NEWT level, and he would’ve passed every one of his OWL tests. A (licensed) animagus, when he first transformed into an octopus, he would’ve drowned on land if it weren’t for Klaus’ quick thinking by tossing him into the lake. Patronus is also an octopus.

VANYA: Magical freak outs were common when she was little, and eventually Reginald just decided to have Allison (who was talented at magic from an early age) obliviate her. They all convinced her she was an ordinary muggle (because of Reginald manipulating them into thinking it as well), and she had magical caps placed on her so she couldn’t lash out. She’d probably become an Obscurus (a creature created from suppressed magical abilities) which could be the cause of the apocalypse, as predicted by Five. A prodigy on the violin, she uses it as her outlet.

PATCH: Wants to be an auror once she graduates. As courageous as she is, she’s definitely a Gryffindor through and through, and the Sorting Hat definitely would’ve sorted her the instant it touched her head. Would be a Prefect and Head Girl of her house, constantly trying to keep Diego from getting into trouble. President of the dueling club, she would have boys and girls alike falling all over her, although she prefers to remain professional and saves dating for after she graduates Hogwarts.

DAVE: Muggleborn sweetheart, Would definitely be in Hufflepuff. While he’s brave, his defining characteristics are how kindhearted and loyal he was, and this would be reflected here. Probably would do Quidditch, and I’d say he would be the Hufflepuff team’s seeker, although he could be the chaser as well. Born during the 60s, he was around when the Chamber of Secrets was originally opened. Fought in the original wizarding war (aka the 70s and 80s), although whether or not he was killed or spirited away in time by Klaus to the present (2010s) is left in the air, because I have a soft spot for him. Loves muggle music from the 60s.

HAZEL & CHA CHA: Two aurors, and the best of the best. Clandestinely placed on a mission by the Handler to ensure the apocalypse occurs, although they know it’s against the world’s best interest. Instead of a briefcase, they use a time turner, which is later stolen by Klaus when they kidnap and interrogate him.

AGNES: The owner of a sweets shop in Hogsmeade, she was definitely a Hufflepuff during her time at Hogwarts. Would’ve excelled in Care of Magical Creatures, but owns the shop instead because she didn’t have enough money to go to a school specifically for magizoology. Falls in love with Hazel while he’s on his mission, and eventually, they leave for Romania.

THE HANDLER: A member of the Wizengamot, although her boss has encouraged her to ensure the apocalypse (predicted by Five) happens against the will of the council. A peculiar woman who terrifies her employees. Definitely just uses magic to do everything, like pens to write whatever she says and floating food to herself. Frequents magical candy shops. Would have been in Slytherin during her time at Hogwarts, but also might’ve gone to Beauxbatons.
