Pretty sure I’m not alone here but as a Non-American I am already mentally and emotionally drained and stressed about what’s happening in the States and their Election that I haven't had the energy or mental space to even think about my own here in New Zealand.
But today in my mail I got a pamphlet magazine about Our Election and things we will be voting on. I was like “great this is a good starting point to getting informed.”
But as I was going through it I started to realise that this wasn’t supposed to be informative and providing facts. It was to persuade you to vote in the beliefs they upheld. Actually no it’s was telling you how you should vote. Having statements made up of person opinion and assumption. And even using what I would call minor scare tactics to get you to vote their way.
Once I realised this I checked to actually see who had sent this out, realised it was from a particular group which I should not be getting political information, then put it straight into the bin.
I just think how many other mailboxes did this end up in. Like I’m all for discussion, getting informed about the issues and having differences of opinion but this kind of shit ain’t it.
