I tried follower dungeons and they’re pretty awesome so far. I like that you can toggle if you want the tank to lead/pull or you. I’ve found it’s more safe to pull yourself and let the tank grab aggro (which they do very well I will say)

I did wipe a few times because the tank over pulled so like I said I’d be careful about allowing the tank to take the lead in super dense areas with a lot of mobs.

I’d also suggest not pulling a lot at a time if you can help it. The followers are..not equal to maxed out gear players lmao.

The DPS from the DPS followers isn’t really that great so it definitely takes more time to get through a dungeon. Especially if your character isn’t really geared/DPSing hard yet. Also it makes mechanics matter a lot more since when you’re not completely breezing through enemies at max speed they have a chance to actually use those abilities

You also seem to have a much lower chance of getting boss loot? Or at least it seemed like it to me. I’ve done Ruby Life Pools twice and Neltharus once and only got one or two pieces of gear.

I suppose this might be a balance thing because if that wasn’t the case people would just do follower dungeons again and again for loot (but also there are plenty of people who wouldn’t like the slow pace of doing it with followers so I’m sure plenty of people still opt for LFG)

It definitely takes a fair but longer but I find that somewhat refreshing honestly cuz you can literally go at your own pace. You don’t have to worry about being rushed or if you have to take a break you can just walk away no big deal.

It’s great for something like finishing a dungeon quest at the end of a questline for example. I wouldn’t use it as a way to get loot or experience though. It doesn’t seem to provide much of either. Though I am going to be doing more in the future so I’ll see if my opinion on the loot changes. Maybe I’m just unlucky af

They are really good for practicing/experimenting with a class or new rotations too etc. hell even if you just wanted to get to know the dungeon layout/bosses before going onto something like heroics/mythics this is a good way to do so.

Most importantly you don’t have to worry about getting yelled at for making mistakes.

I’m excited to see how they expand and edit it in the future

the fact that Stardew Valley is a $15 indie game that came out almost a decade ago with zero microtransactions and is still receiving free DLC updates to this day is absolutely bonkers. There are $50-60 AAA games with paid DLC that have come out more recently and aren’t nearly as actively supported or updated.
