You know what I just thought honestly? I feel like if Sonny was still in Port Charles, this whole situation with Ava's stalker would be done. He would have figured out it was Spencer and he would've put a stop to it. Sonny might hate Ava, but she's still Avery's mom and that means something to him. In the past, during the whole Kevin thing, he told Ava that if anything happened to her and he could've stopped it, he'd never forgive himself. At the very least, he values Ava as Avery's mom and knows that it would devastate his daughter to lose her mother.
