They probably have different endings to their names (Franklin, Francis, Franco, Francois, ect) like uncle Stanley and uncle Stanford from gravity falls
Who remembers the show Timothy goes to school? I only remember it because since I was like 5 I’ve always had the question,
WHO WOULD NAME THEIR TWINS FRANK AND FRANK??? I’M SO CONFUSED??? WHAT??? WHY???

Even though Kuei is a pushover he would probably listen to his generals, (as opposed the consensus of the other world leaders) all of which saw the war front and dislike Azula because of that. Also keeping in mind that Azula Almost killed him. So I feel like it would mostly be Earth Kingdom military leaders and nobility influenced decisions because the Earth Kingdom was the main theatre of the war. While Northern Tribe was isolated for the war for 80 years so Arnook wouldn’t that prejudice against her and Hakoda would likely listen to Sokka and Katara on the matter.
I am honestly struck by how willing the ATLA fandom is to imagine Hakoda and Chief Arnook as thirsting for the blood of a 14 year old who never harmed them or their nations. Because writers so often claim that “world leaders are demanding the execution/debending/torture/whatever of Azula,” and those are two of the three non-Zuko world leaders(and the third one is likely to be a huge pushover).

In all fairness the volcano on Roku’s island could be seen by Sozin all the way in the fire nation capital so it was likely a super volcano which if he left exploding would’ve likely caused massive destruction for the fire nation and the western earth kingdom. Also he didn’t die while fighting the volcano, the volcanos destructive potential was lessened by Roku and Sozins intervention. He was killed after the fact while trying to escape and he inhaled volcanic gasses
Still not over the fact that Roku died while fighting a volcano, which is something he didn't even have to do btw bc everyone was already safe on the boats and off of the island, and then Aang shows him up 112 years later by battling a volcano and not only did he not die, he was able to save an entire village within seconds. Roku is a chump period.

The world of Avatar The Last Airbender relies heavily on the philosophies, teachings and cultures of Asia and the four nations are often attributed to East Asian cultural references (China, Korea, Japan ect) but this often leads to people ignoring the cultural references to South Asia (the Third Eye of Shiva for combustion bending ect) and to Southeast Asia (architecture and clothing particularly in the Fire Nation ect) and Polynesia (the catamarans used in the water tribe ect)
As a South Asian person who adores Avatar and it’s representation of mine and other cultures ideologies there is a lot lacking in the characters. With a lot of caricatures and harmful stereotypes such as Guru Pathik, the Sand Benders, and the Swamp Benders. However in newer avatar content I’ve seen Jargala who gives me hope for wider representation in Avatar especially with new content from Netflix and Avatar studios. So as a South Asian fan I have compiled a list of characters/groups that I see as south Asian coded and wish to see expanded or represented in those ways.
1. king Bumi- everyone’s favourite mad genius with his name meaning Earth in many south Asian languages I think it would only be appropriate.
2. Guru Pathik- At the moment he is a stereotype of a mystical swami pandit but he is important (and has good lessons for aang) and his character has a lot of options for growth beyond this stereotype
3. The earth kingdom- Other characters in the Earth Kingdom as the most diverse land and presumably the homeland to the two confirmed south Asian coded characters (Pathik and Jargala) it would only make sense for there to be more south Asian influences within the earth Kingdom.
4. Prince Wu- In the legend of korra we see prince wu an earth kingdom noble with dark skin and a south Asian voice actor so it could be said that there with the communities from point three could be intertwined with the nobility of the earth kingdom and Ba Sing Se.
5. Combustion Man and P’li- with their third eyes being based of off the Hindu Lord Shiva, it would only make sense that there would be south Asian influences in their communities or the bloodlines of combustion benders in general
6. The fire nation- the fire nation has obvious nods to south Asian culture with things such as combustion bending and the Agni Kai (words from Sanskrit and inspired by south Asian warrior cultures) it would make sense to see some fire nation communities with more overt south Asian cultural references
7. The Air Nomads- the Air Nomads are based of off the culture of Tibet and draw from Buddhist and Hindu teachings. Tibet is a vast region, while currently occupied by China it has historical and cultural connections to both South Asia and East Asia. There is also cultural references to Nepal and Sri Lanka. While we have a limited knowledge of the Air Nomads I think if we were to see more it would be nice to see some south Asian representation in their order.

A lot of y’all hating on aunt Wu for no reason. Yes, I understand going against fortune tellers in real life but you need to remember the avatar universe is different from real life. We see many characters recieve/talk about vague prophecies in this world (chief Arnook seeing a girl become the moon when Yue was born, Aang seeing Toph in the swamp) I believe that Aunt Wu also sees vague prophecy and tells people what she sees and allows them to interpret these visions in their own ways. I feel like it’s also to important to remember her profecies where correct for 20 years before the gaang came and where technically always true.
A lot of people also use her ending quote about shaping your own destiny against her but she was again right. In the way that her prophecies always ended true but relied on peoples actions to see how they became true. Like the guy with red shoes, she likely just told him that he’d find love when he was wearing red shoes but he interprets that as always wear red shoes making it a self fulfilling prophecy. The idea is shaping your own destiny also influences Aang when he refuses to kill Ozai despite everyone telling him he must. He still has the destiny of facing the fire lord but he does it on his own terms.
People also tend to use Sokkas scepticism as proof but we see especially in the first book that Sokka is not spiritual. This can be seen with him seeing bending as magic rather than sacred forms and him not believing in the reincarnation of the avatar (which is a canon occurrence in this world). This is not a fault of sokka but makes sense with the Southern Water Tribe losing spiritual connections because they lost the water benders. This would explain why Katara, who sees her self as a keeper of her heritage, and Aang, who grew up spiritually, are more open to Aunt Wu.
