i have complicated feelings about kotlc "[character] deserves to kill" "let [character] loose" posts. because the thing is, in keeper, they don't want to. that's critical--they want peace, they don't want to kill or even fight; they only do it because they have to

so while that sentiment is most often a casual expression of support, and it can be an amusing one! it feels, at times, like we're lumping these characters into "cool badass vindicator" ideals or something. yeah women with swords are pretty, but sophie wants to be normal.

maybe she deserves to kill, which is a whole other conversation, but what about after? what about when it fucks her up beyond recognition and she doesn't know what to do with herself? because you don't get her killing without that

but then again it's just a casual post type for fun and isn't actually a big deal, I just think every time I see one "but they don't want that" (which can also be the point, but it doesn't seem like the posts account for that)

I don't actually care if we don't get a new Keeper book this year. She's a mom to two kids, one of them under a year old. Delaying the next book would be an excellent decision for her. But I don't like not knowing :(
