A year in reflection on a personal note // this page doesn't see much of me or my story, and I've kept it that way so that those who can understand my story through my artwork will appreciate it more (hopefully), but I'll stick my face here tonight to wish you all a happy, healthy & prosperous new year! This year has been full of lessons, full of blessings, departures of all kinds, new arrivals of some truly beautiful souls and plenty of new beginnings, the highest of them all being blessed with a brand new home that has my name solely on the lease and those closest to me helping me reach that goal and go through the journey with me. This year has been eventful, I'm not talking the media bs but in life in general. It's been a year of shadow work, a year of embracing both sides of me, understanding my inner self deeper to be able to love that side of me more and then bring this new & improved soulful self into 2022. There's no new years resolutions, there's nothing I'm promising to myself for the end of the year other than to be happy, healthy and even more authentically myself. To live and to learn and to keep embrace everything as an opportunity to learn, level up and spread love & light. For whatever this year has brought, I hope you hold the good memories, I hope you focus on the love more than loss and take it as another year of lessons, blessings & light. NOW RELEASED | "JHANA" A Pali term meaning meditation aka Dhyana in Sanskrit, referring to a state of meditation where the person is profoundly still and in perfect concentration. Commonly known to have four jhanas in today’s world, each jhana has it’s own stage and representation to lead to the profound state of equanimity (a steady conscious realisation of reality’s transience). The first jhana requires the practitioner to abandon the following five hold-backs – restlessness, sluggishness, sense-desire, ill will and doubt. The second jhana focuses on conceptual thinking, whilst the third jhana focuses on sensations of pleasure beginning to be tempered with equanimity. The fourth jhana focuses on absorption characterised by a mind that has achieved ‘purity of mindfulness’ – becoming steady, clear, flexible and luminous. Designed with heavy Thai influences from my love of Thai and East Asian artwork, Jhana is a piece that reflects royal colours mixed into mindfulness bliss as this piece came about during states of pure tranquility.
