If you thing that Aang forced Katara into a relationship and having kids or that she was his "Trophy wife", then you clearly haven’t paid attention to Katara‘s character. She fought a 80ish year old man because he was being a sexist jerk (as she should) and wasn’t shy to call Sokka out in the beginning of Season 1 when he made sexist comments. She would never let someone treat her that way. And Aang? He would never do such a thing. The EIP kiss was so wrong, there’s no doubt, but he learned from his mistake. Also, if Katara wouldn’t have wanted kids, she simply wouldn’t have kids. She and Aang probably would have had to break up, because Aang HAD TO have kids to safe the Airbender legacy and that’s what society excepted from him. But Katara wanted Kids and a family. Girl literally asked Aunt Wu out about her future family and husband and was excited to hear about it. She was thinking about her future with Aang in "The promise" (comic) AND ABOUT HAVING KIDS WITH HIM. Just wanted to point this out.

Yes totally understandable, I do too and I don‘t that’s toxic. It’s a difference to defend your ship without offending anyone and to offend a ship or a shipper only because they ship it.

hot take: both the kataang and zutara fandoms can be SO toxic 

zutara fans make it out to be that katara didn’t actually love aang, that aang was abusive and toxic, and generally chat shit about the couple. they also say that the age gap is weird and claim that kataang fans aren’t allowed to argue with them, because their ship is canon. 

BUTT kataang shippers can be so messed up (and i say this as a kataang fan). they are so mean to some zutara shippers, comment hate on (beautiful) zutara art pieces just because it’s zutara and get really fucking personal sometimes. i’ve seen one too many posts about a zutara shipper getting threatening dms.  

plot twist: maybe just let it go? if you don’t like certain content, just ignore it. just scroll past on your explore page, don’t let it ruin your day. if you really can’t BEAR to see it then block the tags. just grow up. it’s a fictional couple. it really does not matter in the long run. there is no law that if you see something you disagree with, you MUST comment hate on their post. 

if you’re talking about ATLA/LOK with someone and you’re discussing which ships you like/dislike then go for it! just don’t actively seek out other shippers and tell them all the reasons why you think they’re wrong. 

i dont know that’s just what i have to say on the matter. in the future, when i make my kataang and/or zutara related posts and you don’t like them just move on. you dont need to make a big deal out of it. yes i like kataang! yes i don’t really ship zutara romantically. it’s not that big of a deal.

I love how in 'Understanding Willow', Willow was like: "We can’t be instantly friends again, but we can try to make it work over time". As much as I love Amity (and know with what reason she did what she did), she really hurt Willow. It’s totally understandable why Willow needs time to heal. Amity showed, that she is being for real and really wants to be Willow‘s friend and make it up to her. I hope we see more development and backstory for Amity in season 2. Her redemption arc isn’t really quite over, but we can’t forget that there will be more seasons.

I’m gonna be honest: I don’t really want a series of the new Avatar after Korra. I wouldn’t mind it of course, but I want to see more missing content from grown up Gaang and how they built up Republic city or the Krew as adults. Maybe a Kyoshi series or what happened to Azula after Smoke and Shadow. Adventures from the Kyoshi warriors. The Gaang kids (Bumi, Kya, Tenzin, Izumi, Su, Lin) growing up. Anything about the past Avatars. There is so much playground and it would be a shame to waste it. I wouldn’t complain, but there is so much more to explore

Yes, the first kiss wasn’t really a problem. It was just a normal kiss. The second wasn’t really my cup of tea and I think we should all agree on that. That’s why the last one will always be my favorite: They’re both ready, no war, etc.

Yes, I agree. As much as I love Kataang and Aang, he shouldn’t have done that. I am pretty sure tho, that almost all Kataang shippers can agree on this (I hope). And in no way I am justifying it, but he did regret it and learned from his mistakes. In North and South he remembered it and actually asked her, if he could kiss her.
