the joy of life legacy challenge by @simelune 35 generations to keep you playing.

as i was looking for legacy challenges that were being updated as new packs came out, i had the thought "hey, why not just write one myself?" so here we are! i'll do by best to add new generations as time goes on, but seeing as this already has 35 (!!) generations, i think we'll be okay for a bit.

a few notes:

this challenge incorporates mods. i tried to include options for players who do not use gameplay mods, but some generations are built around them.

this challenge uses (almost) all packs. some generations are based off specific packs though, so you could pick and choose which gens you want to do.

this challenge has story aspects. there's a lot of room for you to come up with a story yourself each generation, so have fun with it!

some generations are longer and more involved than others! this is meant to give you a bit of a break and provide variety between generations.

Does anyone know if there are any infant height presets like there are for toddlers? You know, for posing purposes?? Because they're still a little big to pose as newborns🤔🤔🤔

March 24: National Day of Memory for truth and justice

Today is the day in Argentina to commemorate the victims of the last military dictatorship, self-styled "National Reorganization Process", which usurped the government of the Argentine national state between March 24, 1976 and December 10, 1983. The date highlights the importance of democratic continuity, which in 2023 will be 40 years old.

April 1977, when 14 women gathered for the first time in front of the Casa Rosada to demand information about their sons and daughters who had been kidnapped. They are remembered to this day as the Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo.

In times of cloth diapers, the mothers kept the ones their now disappeared children had worn and decided that they would wear them on their heads to recognize themselves in the crowd, becoming their national symbol.

With the restoration of democracy, in December 1983, President Raúl Alfonsín issued the Decree that would later trigger the well-known "THE JUNTAS TRIAL"

This was the first condemnation of State terrorism in Argentina, at the level of the Nuremberg trials, setting a precedent in the continent in view of the horrors experienced.

This is a recent history in the country, our FATHERS, MEN OF 60 YEARS OF AGE went through it, their generation includes the thousands of people who are with us and carry the physical and mental torture of what they suffered.

hi there! do you plan on coming back to simblr/posting your decades challenge? or even just playing it? i miss seeing your posts, they were always so pretty! hope youre having a great day!

Hi nonnie♥ thank you, you're so kind!! Mmm, nope. As sad as I am about it, I don't plan on coming back to play or post on my decades challenge. I do have a lot of screenshots that go up to Josephine (heir of the 1900's) getting pregnant with her first child but that's it.

If you still want it, I can post those but I stopped playing there. Now I have two jobs and no time to do everything that goes into storytelling, I'm currently playing the "modern" game and even so, I only play for about 30 min when I can :( I love the decades challenge and I was very passionate about it, I had a lot of ideas for the story, BUT I'm a perfectionist which means I can't help but take it too seriously, and I end up putting so much time and effort on making the scenes/screenshots look "perfect" that I stop actually playing it. Right now I'm just enjoying the game, and maybe I'll share a few screenshots of my current household, who knows.

Umm, I got home, and I was about to download the new expansion after ages of not opening my game and just now realized I deleted everything Sims related from my PC because I didn't have enough room on my disk.

Yeah... That's sad... My present self is very angry at the very tired me from the past who decided to delete everything that day. I remember I was working on something I had to get done by that weekend and my laptop was like Not enough space on disk and my first thought was I don't need this right now.

I already know I don't like playing vanilla and there's no way I have the energy and time to do the searching and download all my fav skins details, defaults, hairs and everything so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Hello everyone!!

It's been a few months since my last appearance here 😅

I was enjoying summer with my family, and now I'm back to work, to be honest I didn't even remember about Sims anymore until this week when I saw the new livestream for the new pack. I was super excited to see everything that's coming and that's when I remembered my decades challenge lol 😂

I have a lot of posts in the drafts and it seems so sad to just leave them there without seeing the light lol so I'll probably post them now ☺️

There's only one more week of scheduled posts next and then I'm taking a hiatus.

I have a bunch of screenshots, I've played until the next gen, but lately I have no time to sit and write, if you've been following my story you might notice that the latest post have been more of a description of the images rather than actual storylines,and I'm not feeling very comfortable with that, specially because of what is coming next for Josephine which is very important and I feel I need to write it properly.

Real life is getting super busy right now and I'm prioritizing spending my free time with my family, and specially with my daughter's birthday coming up in two months I need to start preparing for that too. So untill I have a free time and feel like I can get to writing ai will leave for a while :)

Gilbert has turned eighteen and became a young man. He has started classes and has settled in quite well during his stay.

Being the outgoing man that he has always been, it has not been difficult for him to make friends quickly.

He thoroughly enjoys the classes and the reading material that is provided there.

When he is not busy in classes, studying, or going out with his friends, he writes letters to Amelia whom he misses dearly, and to his family.

The snow had stopped, although the cold in Brindleton Bay still chilled the bones at night. Jo took advantage of the sunny day to go out to see the city's shopping center, she had in mind to prepare a cake for Louis's birthday. As she walked, Jo was amazed by the beauty of the place, it was her first time seeing a trolley car, most of the shops had electricity and she was surprised at the difference she found between the little town where she grew up and this beautiful city full of opportunities.

In the corner of the bakery, an advertisement caught her attention:

WANTED In a private family, a short distance from the city, a good PARLOUR MAID, she must be accustomed to the care of plate, glass and waiting at table. A respectable, trustworthy young woman is desired.

Louis turned 18 !!

The winter in Brindleton Bay was getting rough and with little money left Louis was getting more and more worried. Since their arrival, Louis had been fishing in a river close to where they were staying, but with the waters freezing it was getting harder every day.

He was nothing but persevering, and his purpose had always been to get some type of work in the docks, but every day when he left the factory he headed there with no luck as there was little work to be done at this time of the year. 

And instead of going home and having to look Josephine in the eye and accept that he had failed her once more, he preferred to stay at the bar drinking his frustration away.

Beloved sister, 

I am extremely grateful and relieved that you have found a way of letting me know you and Louis are safe and have found a place to stay. We were all concerned about your departure, especially mother. I believe I understand the reasons why you decided to seek your own destiny, but I do not agree with the way you did it, nor the moment you chose for such feat. Your letters must of have relieved some of mother's anguish, and I know you will also be glad to read that our older brother has married Bethany Smith in a very small ceremony after he turned eighteen last month. Thanks to the help of the Cliffords, Ernest has been able to restore the plantation and I hear the house is looking a lot better too, I’m hopeful that with the news of your wellbeing and the house being back at it’s shape mother will be recovering better. 

She has told me that Charles has become a good little man and has been a great help for them too. As for me, I'm settling in this breathtaking city, in the time I've been here I've learned more than I expected, and now that we are in the new century it is incredible how modern and revolutionary everything is being lived here. I'll tell you all about it later when the real college classes start.

I've been so tired lately. I'm super happy of the work I'm getting and in fact I wish I had way more as I'm a freelancer and right now I'm barely covering my costs. But I feel the problem is that I'm still trying to do all the same stuff I did when I wasn't working like taking care of the house, doing all the cooking, trying to work at home at the same time I try to pay attention to my daughter...

Managing being a mom, the work, being a wife and also... as my therapist always tells me, finding time for myself and my own entertainment too, which is the hardest for me because I always feel guilty when I'm not being "productive".

And that's a huge part of why I get so tired all the time. Lately even playing Sims I end up make it a responsibility which makes me stress??? Like "I have to get this done by the end of the week"??? When it's supposed to be fun and relaxing!!! I guess I just have to understand IT'S FINE TO JUST HAVE FUN, it doesn't need to all be responsibilities and duty.

At first Jo felt like living a dream, she would feel very fulfilled with her tasks at the little apartment, she enjoyed cooking for Louis as he liked everything she made and he was grateful for hear hot meals when he returned home.

Weeks had passed and the work for Louis was hard, he insisted that it would be momentary until he got something better at the docks. Although they had come here because of Josephine's plan to find a job, Louis insisted that she stay in the apartment since it was dangerous for her to go out alone.

Soon, what Josephine had believed to be a great dream turned into a nightmare. Louis wouldn't even return home after work most days. He stayed up late drinking in bars and always came back totally drunk.

When he was drunk he used to tell Josephine that she was his responsibility and that he should take care of her, even if it meant giving up his dream of traveling the world and being a fisherman. Jo felt such guilt for having dragged him with her to this situation.

You know, everytime I'm about to face something important that makes me terribly anxious, I have to ask myself what is the worst thing that could happen? And then, I remind myself not even that would be the end of the world. That even if I fail, I'm gonna live through it, as I have done so many other times before.

Also, little tip: when you think about the "worst" things that could happen, don't think about the specifics, only the general outcomes. For example, if you have a job interview then the worst could be not getting the job, but don't entertain specific thoughts like "puking all over the desk" because that's an intrusive thought and you don't want to allow them, they'll just make you even more anxious.

From the moment they arrived in the big city, Louis had taken care of the whole situation. He quickly found a job in a small factory not far from the ports. At the same time he managed to talk to the people in the neighborhood and rented a small apartment for both of them.

- I had to say that we are married, otherwise they would not have let us share the same apartment, and with the money we have, it wouldn't  be enough.

The apartment was very small, the damp covered the walls and the common corridors were swarming with garbage and rats, but it covered the basic needs, each one had a room and Jo thought it looked cozy. Although it was probably her enthusiasm to be sharing this experience with Louis. The thought of “It's almost like being newlyweds” flashed through her mind.
