Well, the flashbomb Kaz uses to escape the Darkling is by Wylan, Eric Heisserer confirmed that in an interview. Which means, they already work together.

And if you remember the books, it was Jesper who first went to get Wylan to do some demo for the Crows, and when he saw him he instantly fell for him.

So what I'm trying to say is Wylan and Jesper already met. They already know each other, Jesper wanting someone for demo isn't just a random hint at Wylan, it is LITERALLY WYLAN HE'S TALKING ABOUT. He wants to convince Kaz to get him on the job, because he wants to get to know him.

A Wylan headcanon I just made up

Wylan can probably write his own name in perfect print from muscle memory alone because he tried so hard to memorize it. Also I feel like he's able to recreate his father's signature from copying it again and again from some document he stole from Jan's office because he wanted to develop his own signature.

I don't get why the fandom sees Wylan only as this soft, kinda whiny uwu bean 90% of the time. Like yes, he totally is, but he is not only that. He is incredibly smart and talented, and tbh pretty ruthless if he wants to.

First of all, he suggested waking up the guards in the Ice Court in order to kill them. He talked back to Kaz at least once, and also tried to lie to him, and it kind of worked out.

He recreated and used Ilya Morozova's liquid fire on the base of David Kostyk's Lumiya. Morozova himself destroyed the recipe for it because he deemed it to powerful. He didn't have a fancy lab or assistents, he did it all by himself in a grave, without the ability to take extensive notes. And he isn't even a Fabricator, while David and Morozova are two of the most powerful Fabricators, if not the most powerfull.

And then in RoW he took one look at David's plans, and without any explanation knew what the problem was and how to solve it. David was on that for weeks and couldn't quiet figure it out (though he was close). Like that boy is hella smart, imagine if he would have had the chance to actually work with David. Imagine how happy David would have been if he finally found someone who understood everthing he said. I would have loved seeing them together, that scene in RoW just broke my heart.

Okay anyway now I'm sad again, so for good vibes please just imagine the pure chaotic energy of Nikolai and Wylan working together on something.

So I just read Chapter 18 of RoW and I'm... I don't even know what to say. I've had tears in my eyes a lot of times reading any book from the Grishaverse, especially SoC/CK, just because I get really emotional when I'm invested in a book, but this totally caught me off guard. Like I was totally okay one line and the next I was full on sobbing. I haven't even managed to completely finish this chapter.

I don't even know if David is actually dead, I'm still clinging to the last scrap of hope that they find him, but like Leigh, you deserve a special place in hell for having David die on his and Genyas wedding day (I mean that in the kindest way possible, just to be clear)
