Written on a dare, the_hitcher_is_my_dad delivered a beautiful love story between the Minister and Psycho Sam in the 2016 film "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" - - I couldn't not podfic this, because it has lived rent-free in my head ever since they posted the first chapter. And now, happy birthday hitcher :)

The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip that ran in papers from 1905 to 1927, wherein the aforementioned Everett True regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude. Men have not only been taking up too much room on public transport for about as long as public transport has existed, but the people around them have been irritated about it for at least a hundred years. The next time someone tries to claim that manspreading is a false phenomenon, please direct them to this strip so that Everett True can correct their misconceptions with an umbrella upside the head.

Sometimes we realize that we’ve been the toxic one in someone’s story. Sometimes we were the villain. Maybe we caused them harm or any number of things.

It’s important to not get stuck on wishing you could change it, because you can’t. It’s important to hold yourself accountable, but getting stuck in a guilt spiral doesn’t help anyone. What you can do is do better in the future, and learn from your mistakes.

It’s also important to acknowledge that the person you were toxic to doesn’t owe you anything. Not forgiveness or even a chance to be heard out. But this doesn’t mean you deserve to punish yourself forever.

You’re allowed to forgive yourself. You’re allowed to move. You can’t change the past but you can change your future. And you can grow and do better.

We've hammered out most of the errors, typos, broken links, &c, but there are going to be plenty more. That's okay -- one of the purposes of browsing period is to give us time to find and fix those mistakes before bidding opens.

So creators, please do check over your offering post carefully! If you spot an error, please use the edit form to let us know. (You should have received a link from us via email yesterday. If you did not, please email us.) Remember that the edit form will close at 10pm EST on March 4 so that we have time to get all edits made by the time bidding opens!

Over the next few days, we'll be posting compendia of all of the fan labor offers and all of the "other" offers. If you'd like to put together a post that collects all of the offers in your fandom, tag us and we will reblog it!

When people talk to me about going to Target for one thing and coming out with several, I used to think it was a lack of will power on their part. But then I go into libraries planning to check out one book and come out with 20 plus several DVDs I know I will have to return in 1 week unlike the books I can just re-check online after 3 weeks for a couple of months...

Now... Now I know... I'm so sorry I judged you Target shoppers. T-T

But in my defense, at least the library is free. XD

Me, as I walked into the library today: Okay, we’re just gonna ease into it today… it’s been a long time since I set foot in a library, and I don’t want to get overwhelmed when I’m just trying to reclaim a beloved hobby, so we’re not gonna rush this. Just pick some books at random, read a chapter or two, no pressure, and we’ll see how it goes from there.

A lot clicked for me when my mom said the reason she was so reactive towards me as a kid was that she assumed intent behind things I did, rather than recognizing my behaviors for being normal kid behaviors or normal autism behaviors. So I got treated as if I was an adult who was intentionally doing things to upset her. She'd react to me like I had the maturity and wherewithal to do things in a cruel or manipulative way, making her life harder, when I was just existing. Just trying to learn how to cope and be a person myself. When she told me this I stopped in my tracks trying to process. Why would anyone's default assumption be that a kid is trying to antagonize them instead of like, struggling with something they're experiencing? But she was also raised the exact same way, treated like everything she did carried the weight of adult responsibility, not seen as a kid.
