It’s tendrils swept upwards and circled around a large garnet, it was a deep blue-purple color that sparkled under the light. At either side there were two others - an onyx and an aquamarine. Their birthstones. “I gave Eliza hers already. Congress has ordered my departure to France in a week. I don’t know when I’ll return… Wait for me?”    /    unprompted.

gaze softens, and alexander isn’t sure how to reply. he is so often a man of many words, and yet here - the very moment it counts the most - he finds himself to be speechless, stumbling over what he so desperately wants to voice. the ring sits just above the wedding band - if necessary, he will pass it off as a ring to mark his engagement to eliza. a belated wedding gift, or something similar. when words fail to come, he throws his arms around john’s waist, pulls him close to press his face into his lover’s chest. he adores him - adores the life that they have built together. the life that they will continue to share for as long as fate permits.

Discuss plots and help get you pumped about your characters/storylines

Tell you when they have a problem so you can try to work it out together

Listen to your problems and try to help when possible

Is loyal, kind and respectful

Sticks around even when things get tough
