In 2019 under Beth’s expert adminship, Sleeping Dragon was born giving us all a place to revisit stories we weren’t yet finished telling, this time with Hogwarts as a University. Over the years (and through literally an entire pandemic, guys???) this roleplay has grown, expanded, shifted to allow us to keep telling these stories. This universe, and this era specifically, brought us together but as writers we will probably always seek something different and new and novel after some time in any one place. So it’s with as much sadness as it is excitement that we want to announce our new project @ethereumhq
The Sleeping Dragon dashboard will remain open for any of us who wish to continue indie rping this timeline (or others) out in our little community, but as admins we will no longer be running a main page and our efforts will be on our new project which we hope you will all join us in!
You’re more than welcome to translate any SD character to the EHQ dash, and if you need any help in doing so please don’t hesitate to hit up the admin chat. We will help any way we can. If you have any questions about the roleplay please direct those to the EHQ ask box so we can publish them in a FAQ. You can do this anonymously if you prefer!

Hogwarts University of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the town of Hogsmeade invite students of the school and alumni to join in the weekend long celebration of Hogwarts’ 1981 Homecoming. Clear your calendars for the end of the month, this event will take place Saturday and Sunday April 23 and 24.
The Three Broomsticks and the Hog’s Head will offer accommodation discounts to all graduates of the university for those wishing to come to the Saturday morning parade through High Street and stay for the Sunday night Quidditch match at the Hogwarts pitch. Campus will be open to non-students for the weekend of Homecoming, so stop in and say hello to an old professor or check to see if the graffiti you left in the third floor lavatory is still there after all this time.
Other event highlights include:
Touch-quidditch matches at the Tremblay Manor backyard pitch
A WixBurger popup booth in town
Live music
Half off all drinks at the Three Broomsticks if Vicky Rosmerta recognizes you xoxo
A petting zoo of magical creatures (some of which probably should not be pet...) at Hagrid’s Hut

March has come and gone, but the destruction left behind from a particularly devastating month is still lingering. As a result, many of your favorite destinations have either experienced minor damage, severe enough damage to shut down, or there’s nothing left to speak of. That’s why we are introducing everyone to April: Spring Cleaning!
This is the time of year when we are already working hard to clear out our lives of things that we no longer need, or perhaps just organizing for the first time in a full year. All of this to say, the cities and towns that we love so much need a bit of work, and it’s time for your characters to roll up their sleeves, and get to work.
Places that need some clean-up assistance:

THE PLOT –
After hundreds of years the Statute of Secrecy is rendered ineffective all around the globe. The secret is out, and Muggles know everything. Between fast advances in wizard technology making magical presence harder to hide and the growing civil unrest between people and their governments, something was bound to boil over. But now? So soon? Its 1981, aren't there prophesies to be fulfilled?
Sleeping Dragon is a Marauders Era AU that focuses on the what ifs of our beloved era. What if... Hogwarts was a University? What if... Magic was no longer a secret? How differently might the First Wizarding War have played out if it wasn't waged and won in the shadows?
The Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix still must rise, but they're no longer the only enemies preparing a war to shape the fragile world.

Thunder cracks. The sky opens up. Heaven pours its waste out onto the Earth and leaves death in its wake. For the month of March, uncommon weather events rock the world. It’s unclear whether these phenomenon are the fault of someone (or a group of someones...), a sign of the times, or just sheer bad luck and worse timing on top of the Statute of Secrecy’s demise. One thing is certain. No one—Muggle or Wixen or any combination thereof—is safe from nature’s wrath.
March’s event is a “lockdown” that comes in five parts. Each week a new location will face a cataclysmic “natural” disaster, where the designated characters will be stuck for 72 hours IC and approximately a week OOC. The schedule is as follows:
March 1-5. Tornadoes capable of spewing flame tear through the Scottish Highlands. The JWL’s Wimbourne House opens its doors as a sanctuary.
March 6-12. Earthquakes in London leave many high-rise buildings and their occupants in danger. This is the case for Tremblay Tower, a historically magic hotel that now finds itself in danger of collapse and full of people from every walk of life desperate to make it through.
March 13-19. Ice storms and sudden freezing trap the Ballycastle Ferry between the jagged shores of Ballycastle and the Rathlin Island docks. Those aboard must do their best to stay warm, stay fed, and stay sane as they reconcile with the that ancient terror of going down in sight of land.
March 20-26. The highly anticipated Puddlemere United vs. Appleby Arrows match becomes the first Quidditch game cancelled in a century when a flash flood threatens the lives of spectators. Players work tirelessly to fly people to safety from their brooms, but a team of fourteen and a crowd of four thousand make long work of it. Most people must fend for themselves until a path to safety clears.
March 27-31. When snowstorms hit Cardiff and a cold lightning begins to strike buildings and people alike into crystalline horrors, The Church of the Holy Sorcerer and Prophet Goyle exploit the people’s fear and need for protection with open arms and shelter... for the low, low, price of a little brainwashing.
