Though I suspect this designer was actually a Celestia/Discord shipper, bc that's a dislestia fan child if I ever saw one lmao.

If it's anything like Discord it probably flies with magic, not the actual wings (?)

This can go here too, feel free to ask me things! But sometimes your asks are missing context and I don't know how to respond.

Half the time I don't answer asks, it's just because the sender didn't give me anything to respond to. Like this is just a statement. It's not a question or a compliment or even hate. What am I supposed to say to this.

Like I'm not mad at the sender but I'm also not sure what they were expecting me to say back. So it just sits there while I fail to come up with something to say in return.

Discord's such a weird character in the context of this being a show to sell toys.

Not because he's a former villain, but other reformed villains in toy media are usually like, the ones were meant to see as conventionally attractive or cute in some way. Or they get reformed and never are seen again.

Despite my excitement for the project, I actually haven't done a lot of work on Discord yet just because there's a lot of things I need to figure out on paper first before I get to the fun stuff.

Like aesthetic wise, aside form the head, the changes needed aren't that complicated. If I were unconcerned about articulation this would actually have been a pretty easy custom.

Unfortunately, I want probably too much from this figure and will make everything hard for myself lol.

Perhaps I'm fated to make a custom Minx, because I found this lil thing in my parts/custom fodder bin:

and I think it'd be a very good base for her. For those who don't follow my main blog, Minx is my silly little fanchild OC:

She's loosely based off Creamcicle the giraffe from G1. To say I was surprised at how many seemed to take to her is an understatement lol. I've been refining her design as I go, hence the inconsistencies, but I think I've got her down by now. I should probably make a character sheet or something sometime.

Jessica’s finally done! I used a rerooted disney store snow white head, an N2 body modified to have longer legs, and made the costume myself. She looks so good I’m so happy!

Finally got my Rodger Rabbit plush cleaned up, so here he is with my custom Jessica. Thankfully his overalls are fully removable, so it was a lot easier to clean him without worrying about the color running.

Jessica is an older custom, and some of my mods are not as smooth as I could do now, but regardless, they're very cute together.

I do like Dusty better, and this reminds me I need to eventually make Sandy. I have a spare Clawd already, I'm just not looking forward to another reroot lol.

Squilhelmina is an amazing name Omg.

I also have: Kevin and Shellby Plankton. Kevin could be one of those TV object head dolls, and Shelby is like a Polly Pocket lol.

now that I have this Sisu figure in-hand I have had a few thoughts/notes to self:

1: this plastic feels a little brittle, and I hope it holds up to all my modding

2: Neck should be longer, while the trunk of the body should be shorter for Discord

3: this head seems a little too big for Discord. debating if I'll try to sculpt over it still, or if I'll try something else. Maybe just sculpt over an actual pony head?

4: looking at it this long has made be realize I don't really like Sisu's design lmao

I was ready to dive head first into this project so I did not waste time.

Luckily for the purposes of customizing, she is held together with a lot of screws and not a lot of glue, so it won't be too extra hard to make the mods I want to make.

Aside from cutting her to pieces, I also swapped the front paws onto the back legs, as they have a shape closer to what I want for that part, and because Discord's front paws are more hand shaped, so I'll be using something else for them anyway.

I have a lot more parts to acquire, but it's nice to finally get some hands on work in.

speaking of MLP merch, when I was pursing the Discord figures before deciding to just custom one to my taste, I did find some fun things.

We have not one, but *two* glittercords:

Skin of a killer. If these weren't expensive I might've bought them. But $100 for a tiny, clear, glitter Discord is a little much.

This Japanese trading card.

And a bootleg plush design that seems to be original to the bootleggers:

Also, just a note: a lot of people on etsy and ebay are selling these for inflated prices, but the ones they're selling are literally the same ones you can find coming from china. The tag gives it away. They're buying these from Chinese sellers and reselling them for inflated prices and trying to pass them off as fan-merch. But I feel like actual fan merch would've gotten his horns and wings on their correct sides.

Why did it take a whole decade and new Gen for Hasbro to finally give Pinkie proper curls??? And is this the first brushable that gives Twilight her dark blue hair??? Where was this energy in G4 hasbro.
